You’re the only other human being I know of that has a 640 38spl. I bought one years ago, have enjoyed it immensely ever since. I carry it often.
Yes the prefix to the serial number is CENXXXX also marked in the frame cylinder window TESTED FOR+P+. Rose Wood smooth grip panels.

Count me in. I got one years back. I don't carry it or shoot it all that often though.

Most of the time I carry a Ruger LCP or Sig P365 if my pockets are big enough.

Florida does not change much from Hurricane Season to Tourist Season nor does my carry pistol.

The seasons change here, yet somehow (untucked shirt) I manage to carry the same pistols all year.

HA, I do the same thing, 'ClipDraw' on my Glock 42..or a minimalist holster..sometimes use the clip, sometimes use the holster..

I know the ClipDraw gets a bad wrap, but i have them on my Shield, EC9S, and 1911. I don't use them by themselves often, but they don't get in the way of my shooting nor hang up in the holsters I carry them in. All three guns have manual safeties, and I like having the option to do a quick tuck and roll out for quick trips to the gas station or taking the garbage out, etc. Not often at all, but never hurts to have a option.

Anyway, back on topic:

Warm weather carry for me runs from spring through late autumn before I go a bit larger. Im finding it hard to talk myself out of just carrying this Shield. 45 and being good to go. Carries about as well as a .380 (not that I dont realize that there are times a pocket .380 is a better option when invisibly is a requirement. Love my .380s), and I shoot it about as well as a 1911.

It’s hot. Right now. I could only take the roof till four thirty. Nine hours. Whew!
Oh, but what a house! Local craftsman meets local artist, make dream home. Twenty years later, they call me for a steel roof. To call myself a carpenter in his presence is hubris, plain simple. I wish I could share. Even just the gardens...but I can’t.:(

May this suffice.

The Keltec P-32, that has been on me every day for nearly a two months. Two range trips and two mags and two cleanings, camping, store runs, not in the pool, but in the lake to hook up the pontoon, hence second cleaning, and up on a roof in 95 degree weather, in the middle of nowhere. Just hanging out. Not really being in the way, just sort of being there for me.
Just in case, like the lanyard I had to wear installing panels. (Though not nearly as chaffing.:D)

I never really understand different summer and winter carry. It's the same for me year round, a K6s when I can carry IWB, and the LCP when I need to pocket carry. Temperature has no bearing on which I choose.

Gug.

Supposed to be a heat index over 100 today with like 96+% humidity. Thats blazing hot for the upper Midwest, I will not be venturing outside any more than required today, which is just to let the dogs out a few times.

For hiding inside with the AC all day in my pajamas I've got a Glock 19 in the safe on top of the fridge, that'll do unless I get ambitious and put pants on.

Three of my carry favorites, all are 40 S&W.
Glock 23 minimum carry, quick trip to the store, pick up pizza, walking the dogs.
Glock 22/35 grip accommodates my hand better, these two pistols are preferred.
Glock 23 and 35 have Trijicon HD's the 22 has Truglo TFO.

I find it amusing that so many seem to go "light" in the summer ,as if the threats are less !.

I EDC a G-19 that is pretty much customized ,and that is regardless of the weather [ and it is steamy now in the north east.]

I like your choices !!

Very nice. Someday I want guns like yours.

Summer or winter, I carry the same K6s. The difference is in the summer it’s appendix IWB and winter it’s outer garment pocket D36123C6-806B-4EAA-890E-A0225C55C82F.jpeg holster. Knife and one reload stays the same.

No offense to anyone into the weapon rotation thing.

95% of the time I carry a S&W BG 380. That takes care of 95% of what I may encounter. A higher threat environment? A G19 (the best 9mm IMO) or a S&W 659.

I have been known to carry a 2 1/2" Model 66 Smith.with +P+. Part nostalgia, part skill.

I realize many don't have the experiences I have. The thing going about what feels good in your hand is bs in my book. You can learn to shoot good with any gun regardless how it "feels". Disregarding that, you should carry what you shoot well.

When I was on the job I was carrying a G17 and a 640 as backup.

Timely bump, thanks.
Few weeks ago, I went back to carrying 1911's again; I've gone back & forth from Glock to 1911 before.
Recently moved to FL, so its hot aint just the summer.
This lightweight 1911 has been on my belt since I got here, easily concealed in "summer attire" even in the "winter". :) :D
