I was trying to insert a schematic but it didn't work.
I'm trying to figure out what the comma shaped part behind the trigger goes and does
They call it the sear but from what I can tell it's not like a current revolver sear I've seen.
It can fit curve up or down. There was no v spring inside. I bought some, in case.
The trigger won't return after "firing".
The trigger return spring seems to be OK.
Thanks

It sounds like you’re talking about some flavor of H&R or similar with the small sear piece which is pinned in the trigger guard at the rear. These are in fact the single action sear and do have a tiny little v spring inside and when working properly will catch and hold the bottom of the hammer until the trigger is pulled far enough rearward to trip it.

If your trigger isn’t returning and has the proper V shaped spring in the correct place just above and forward of the trigger, that spring may be flipped the wrong way around or otherwise may not be engaging the trigger in the way it’s meant to. Your double action sear/ pawl may also be broken somehow or out of place or may be missing a small flat spring.

Pictures may help but working on these guns can be a headache. If you already have an assortment of small flat springs at hand, you’re ahead of the game.

I have an assortment of V springs.
My revolver is a concealed hammer gun so I don't know what function a single action sear has in it.
My trigger return spring is a flat/curved spring attached at the front of the trigger guard with a screw passing from the cylinder window down through the frame and spring and into the trigger guard. Clamping it in place. It seems to be all there.
AFAIK there are 5 springs in mine. The trigger spring, the main spring and a small spring attached to the pawl/hand, extractor spring and top latch spring. Any others are MIA.
I bought it used, so who knows.
I'll try to post some pics.
The lock work sure ain't like a S&W.

...There wasn't a part 19 in mine when I disassembled it.
Was it working before you disassembled it? Won't work without that spring. Maybe you just lost it. Maybe it's still there just hiding inside some gunk. They're pretty easy to overlook. Been there, done that. ;)

No, it wasn’t working when I bought it.
Looking at it again, I think the flat trigger return spring #20 may have the en broken off. It seems it’s a little short.
Merry Christmas

Trigger spring breakage seems pretty common when one of these is found. Should not be difficult to find one for a similar model if you can't find the correct one for yours, and file to fit. Same with the sear spring (19).

Yeah I bought an assortment of Wolff sear springs.
I don’t know how long the trigger spring is supposed to be. What i have now just barely catches the trigger. I guess once I get some replacements it will be, file try repeat.

You are correct, grasshopper. Be patient, accept the failures as the learning experiences they are. And when the angel of success visits you (as she will), rejoice! And shoot the thing (black powder!).
