Merry Christmas everyone, tell the story of the best gun you got for Christmas.

my dad would get guns all the time, sometime in large lots and he would give me a 22 or a old surplus that was not worth much. So I didn't really get many guns for Christmas, my mom wasn't keen on it either.

but one year maybe 10 I was surprised with nib Rossi 62A 23" octagon blued 22. He did it a Christmas story style( my favorite Christmas movie) and I liked that. Wish the gun was still nib but I have shot a untold amount of 22 in that gun,it's still very accurate but needs to be gone over one day.

Benelli Nova I wanted bad because I had to have a 3 1/2” chamber 12 ga and it was a pretty decent price with good reviews.

The only 3 1/2”s I ever shot were some #2 steel at a fleeing woodchuck. I got it at about 50 yds so that gun shot well and patterned great with that load at that range.

Shot a ton of rabbits with it and then bought a 20 ga and have hardly touched any 12 ga since.

I've received one gun for Christmas in my life. In the early 2000s, my brother had a CRFFL and he surprised me with a K31 on a Christmas Eve.

I had a removable scope mount and 4x scope on it for a while, but now the K31 has its adjustable rear sight back on it where it belongs.

Thanks again, bro!

Merry Christmas to all on THR. I didn’t work much this year so I spend a lot of time on THR and spending time with family. I did a lot of shooting up until all the ammo shortages. For the op. Dad gave me several guns over the years for Christmas. My favorite was a Ruger 10/22. God bless us all for 2021.

Really?

It’s still the 24th, daytime. Santa won’t be here until tonight. I’m expecting a chunk of coal.
By gosh, you're right!
I wonder which grips will be on my new bfr!!! If Santa stiffs me again this year it'll be time to declare war on the north pole. I may have said that before but this time I mean it!

Always liked those darned things. Action like a Swiss watch.

Christmas when I was 12 (1967) Dad gave me a 22lr semi rifle. Don't remember the brand, probably Glenfield. It was badly damaged in a house fire in 1971 but still usable. Passed it down to my little brother who sold it.

Bought myself a Christmas present when my year end bonus was more than I was expecting a few years ago, Brand new Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt / 45ACP. My oldest son has it now, great shooter.

Never got a gun for Christmas
The only one I ever got for Christmas wasn't even real. It was pretty neat though. When I was 8 or 9, my folks bought me a toy rifle that looked like a Model 94 Winchester. It had a loading port on the side just like a real Model 94, and you could run the "shells" through it by working the lever.;)
Not to boast or brag, but years ago when they first came out, my wife and I bought my dad a Ruger Blackhawk 32 H&R for Christmas. Dad was an "anything 32" type of guy his whole life, and when the 32 H&R Magnum came out, he was smitten. Unfortunately, at that time Dad was having some health problems that were taking a toll on his and Mom's finances, and they simply couldn't afford to buy guns.
My wife and I weren't exactly "well off" either, and we still had kids to raise and a mortgage to pay. But at least I was healthy and had a job. So when I saw how Dad was looking at a magazine picture of a 4 5/8" Ruger Blackhawk 32 H&R, I knew what we had to get him for Christmas. I mean, I knew full well that Dad and Mom were never really "well off" when I was growing up either. Yet they managed to buy me a .22 LR rifle for my 10th birthday, a .308 Winchester rifle for opening day of deer season when I was 14, and a Remington 12 gauge shotgun for my 16th birthday.
BTW, Dad's been gone a while now, but we still have that 32 H&R Ruger Blackhawk.:)
