Loading the same bullet I use 24.5gr IMR 3031 and have been very happy with it. Functions properly in all my AR's and depending on the rifle MOA accuracy.

I have many pounds of 3031 so I load everything I can with it.

In my situation the CFE edged out the 3031 so I stuck with it!
I’m glad you responded! All my testing was done in a mini 14 and i haven’t even tried it in my AR. My grandson shoots it the most! I’ll try it there before loading up a big batch!
Thanks for responding!

Hang onto that mini14 if it truly is sub-moa. I have not heard them being that accurate, though I don't know why the aren't.

I’m loading a 55 Hornady FMJ-BT over 26.0 grains of CFE and getting very good accuracy at 100 yards- sub MOA.
Has anyone else found this to be a good load?
Does the forum have any better suggestions?

25.8 of BL-C(2), shoots good from AR's or bolts to 200.

Thanks for the CFE223 load, I will try it with the pound I picked up because the BL-C(2) was gone at my LGS.

That load is pretty much what I ran with 55&62gr FMJ's. Works really well for me as well! Out of CFE now, and have played with different powders. I've pretty much gone over to TAC for anything 55-75gr .223 now tho!

I have found CFE223 to be an excellent powder in both my sons' and my AR15's regardless of what bullet weights I use. Just bought an 8 lb jug of it just before Christmas.

My AR shot that same load well. Just a little more showed pressure signs so I stuck right around there.

My go to load is 25 gr of BLC2 for 55gr bullets. Cycles reliably and is accurate enough. Main criteria ...... it goes “bang”. When I pull the trigger.

Hi,

I had some good results with IMR 4895 and around 24.5 grains. Trying that, my powder measure no longer speaks to me :). Crunch! I had to do that load old school. The BLC(2 ) loads mentioned by others worked well too, I think every gun is a little different, but thats one reason we reload!
