Hi..
My son came home a bit late from work today.
Had an errand to run...
I wasn't aware but he bought a revolver on GunBroker for me as a Christmas gift but it didn't arrive at his preferred FFL shop until today.
What did he get me???
A Ruger Blackhawk in .357Magnum with a 6-1/2" barrel. A 3- screw Old Model!!! And it hasn't been altered.
This is my second 3-screw...my other one is a superbly accurate .41Magnum. I have three other Blackhawks in .357Magnum but they are all New Models.

I can't wait for the weekend to get out and shoot this revolver with my son. He is pretty excited about it as well.

Nice gun, nice son. You're almost obligated to write him back in your will now.

Pictures. We need pictures. 3 screw and 357 is a good combo. .357 and 6.5” is a really good combo. Could only get better if it was a 41... but you have that covered too.

Stories like this make me all warm and fuzzy inside. It takes me back to the crazy week where I bought my dad a ruger standard 9shot auto. That was an emotional buy and without a word spoken dad got my message loud and clear. I hope your son had some of those same emotions. And clearly, you raised him well, and you mean a lot to him.

He is nearly 27 years old and has been referring to my firearms as his since he was about 10 or 12 years old.
He gets all of them when I am done with them.
Mine, also....he’s one of those great ones. I only have a few firearms, just for hunting and protection, but they’ll be his one day. I had a Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag. I’m not very bright, so it took me until my late 50s to sell it. Fun for a while, but pretty useless. I used to say it was like setting off a qtr stick of dynamite in my hand when I shot it. Enjoy your new gun and your son all you can for as long as you can......
