2020 gun purchases, I think I went overboard a bit

I only bought one for my granddaughter to hunt with, but she didn't get her safety course done before season or get to the range to shoot the new rifle, mostly due to covid,. It's a savage m11 243 win, 22" barreleith youth stock and a Philippine made Bushnell banner 4-12x40 ao, that I bought from Troy fairweather's dad. I've been developing loads for it that if I take a little more time between shots and do my part will go into one hole. For some reason I can put 3 in one hole and the other 2 drop low right at 200 yds.

I also had to pick up a new optic, to replace my Nikon, Burris ff2 4.5-14x42.

NICE! I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who had a shopping cart full of goodies.

Stay safe.

That's a better selection than most of the gun shops have around here! Now your biggest challenges will be 1) finding enough ammo to get them up and running, and 2) finding enough range time to do 1)!

the ones I can remember... I will go through the photo album and see if I missed anything.

S&W 32 safety hammerless 3rd model
S&W 38 single action 2nd model
Charter Undercover 38
Miroku Liberty Chief 38
Chipmunk hunter pistol 22
Rhino 200ds 357 (traded for, sold)
UTAS Xtr-12

Forgot a couple....
Ruger AR556 (traded for, traded it away to get the xtr12)
ATI hybrid lower to replace an 80% that had tolerance issues
Anderson lower just because. It might replace my other 80% if I rebuild my carbine.

Bidding on a couple to start 2021 off right and I have a 10/22 spoken for from a coworker. Basic blue/wood carbine new in box for $200.

That must have been a doozy of a vacation you got a refund on, Riomouse. You could start your own gunshop with that bunch. I bought several guns and did a lot of upgrades on some of them and some I already owned but my purchases pale in comparison to yours so much I'm ashamed to list them. On the other hand you may have given me incentive to go back next week and see if that stainless Ruger single six with adjustable sights is still in the showcase of a close to local gunshop. The price was nice but I managed to get one arm to twist the other hard enough to get out of the door. I'm beginning to lose my grip with the twisting arm. :D

I was all set with my gun collection until 2020 first our (Republican )traiter governor made mags over 10 rounds illegal so I had to buy a Glock 17 and 33 round mags plus several 17 round mags because all I had were revolvers and 1911,s to be grandfathered in.Then I noticed I didn’t own a single AR I just never wanted one until the government was going to tell me no.So I built one with a folding stock with Acog sight in BLACK in 350 legend and many “borrowed” 20 round mags .Then Henry came out with their model x in 45-70.The last rifle a marlin model 60 looked lonely at Walmart so I gave a home .
The 350 AR turned out to be a great shooter small groups at 200 meters it’s first day out.Good truck gun much easier to load than my favored lever guns.We can’t keep a long gun loaded in or on any vehicle. Thanks to the anti gunner as swipe’s I found a new reason to buy more guns and ammo and reloading supplies image.jpg Black Guns Matter

Thanks for the entertaining post. You bought some really nice guns. My 2020 buys were as follows:

Anschutz 1517 17HMR
Kimber Micro 380
Ruger Mk III 22/45 Lite (for my wife)
Savage 110 Desert Tactical 6.5CM and a Tract Response 4/16X scope
Biekel Russian made 20ga O/U
Bergara BXR 22 semi-auto and a Tract 22Fire 4-12X
Beretta A300 Outlander 12ga

Not a bad year at all from this perspective.

2019 was my buy crazy year knowing a election year was coming both guns and ammo, spent most of 2020 recovering financially (trying to anyway) Did buy a couple .22 rifles at Walmart this year and a Remington 700 from there when they went on sale 50% off.

for 2021 I have little desire to buy anything with the price of ammo being what it is, .....$1.00 a shot for .357 and so on. I'll probably get something but alot of guns I wanted are off the list now that it costs a fortune to feed them.

Sold a couple, bought a couple. :)

Ended up with two new-to-me 280 Ackleys: a Cooper 52 Excalibur and a custom 700 Mountain Rifle. The latter was a 280 when I bought it; had it bored out to 280 AI. Got test loads built for both of them, but haven't had sufficient range time to break them in.

Oh, and a 6.5 PRC.

I didn't buy a single thing gun related in 2020 other than memberships or contributions to 2AF. I pretty much sat this year out due to covid. I did start off 2021 by ordering my first can. I suspect a CZ457 with a threaded barrel will be purchased when my suppressor comes in.

I hope things get back to normal this year.

Good Job!! that 10/22 International caught my eye as I have been wanting one except blued to match and be the little brother to my Ruger 44 Mag carbine with Manlicker stock.

I have more guns than money these days but glad someone in keeping things moving.

I bought no firearms this year.

In anticipation of civil unrest, I bought a modern upper and fixed butt, optic and light for my '80s vintage Eagle lower.

I bought a fighting stock of 0 and 00 buck for my Ithaca 37DSPS.

Finally, I stocked up on cleaning supplies.

These days, I'd be hard pressed to find anything I'd consider worth buying, and probably couldn't find ammunition for it if I did.

1. Savage Axis Hardwood .223 Rem
2. Savage Axis Hardwood .243 Win
3. Savage Axis Hardwood .308 Win
4. Savage Axis Hardwood .30-06 Sprg (x2)
5. Carcano Cavalry Carbine
6. CMP Service Grade 1911
7. Canik TP9 Elite SC
8. SIG P365
9. Czech Small Arms VZ-61 in .32 ACP
10. Henry .22 Lever Action

To be fair, the Savages were all on clearance at Walmart AND there was a $50 rebate as well so all, but one cost me $135 with tax out of pocket. The Carcano was on sale at KY Gun Co. I got 10% off the Canik at Academy when they ran the special for military/first responders/teachers for a few months. The Henry was purchased with Cabela’s/Bass Pro gift cards that I had accumulated over a few years. I picked up the P365 when the MCX ran 15% off before Thanksgiving. The VZ-61 is nearly impossible to find, but fortunately, I got an email from CZechpoint-USA notifying me it was back in stock and I immediately ordered it; they were out of stock again within 30 minutes of me having received that email.

I got that same Canik and I love it. It’s the one I keep in my truck.
And yeah, for the price the Savage rifles are awesome. I bought the .308 just because. I don’t even hunt but for the price of course I’m going to buy it.

2020...

Charter Arms Undercover in .38 Special
Marlin 336 Dark in 30-30

Too bad they were all lost in that tragic boating accident right after the election....
