WFT trimmer or?

They should be able to get you set up with the power adapter and 3 way cutters if they carry the Forster Trimmer. I like to buy local when I can, too many shops are closing due to the big online stores and it's nice to have a place for those rare instances when you need something today instead of a week or two.

I appreciate the reply. That’s what my research is telling me as well.
Anyone know the optimum rpm to run one of these?

The instruction sheet I got with my WFT says 1200-2500 rpm is best. The cordless drill I use runs at 1400 rpm and does a great job.

Quite happy with my WFT, money well spent IMO.
I no longer measure 223 brass, just as fast to run it all thru the trimmer, if it needs to be trimmed it gets trimmed, if not is doesn't.

Same here, I don't measure them anymore. I can run a hundred cases through the trimmer in a few minutes.

IIRC, with the WFT you still have to de-burr and chamfer after trimming.

It may not seem like a big deal but when you are processing several hundred pieces of brass at a time it saves you a lot of time and wear and tear on your fingers.

I'm not a precision shooter and load FMJ bullets. I don't de-burr and chamfer after running my brass through the WFT and it hasn't caused my any problems. The cut it very clean.

You do need to keep a good grip on the cases or they'll sometimes catch on the cutters and spin in your fingers. At first I was grabbing the cases near the bottom so as to keep my fingers away from the trimmer but that's not necessary. The inner collar doesn't spin so it won't bite your fingers if they contact it. Once I realized that I held the cases farther towards their necks and had a better grip on them.

I figured the cutter would wear out relatively fast so I ordered two spares but I haven't needed them yet. The cuts still look good after quite a few cases.

Would I want to trim 1K, 2K .223 on the Wilson? Heck no.

You kind of talked me into buying the Giraud. So I went to the website and saw that it would cost me over Five hundred bananas. Closed the site to ponder further.

Yep, pricey up front, I almost got one recently, may still do it some day

The Giraud tri-way (the one that you can use with your own power drill) is only a hair over 100 bananas.

Giraud Tri-Way here also.

Set up in a drill press. As a couple of the other guys said, I use it for my 3Gun .223 and don't bother measuring anymore, just faster to run it through the trimmer. I also have a Trim-It II, but it's a PITA to adjust for different calibers.

I do use a Forster for my precision/hunting stuff.

Anyone know the optimum rpm to run one of these?

Update: Mine is running at 1,160 RPM on my table top drill press.

They may have suggested around 1,200 RPM, so I went with 1,160 since that was one of my choices on that press.

Hope this helps.

I've been happy with my WFT for 223. I chuck it into a bench mounted drill press and it works great. Some kind of auto case prep tool makes it even better. I use the Lyman.
