I'm shooting more now than I ever did before and think I'm addicted. On the 2nd Saturday and 2nd Sunday of each month I shoot metallic silhouette. I shoot rifles in 30-30, 44 Mag and 22lr to add a bit of variety and a T/C Contender in 22lr also. On the 3d Sunday each month I shoot metallic silhouette at another range using a 30-30 and my 44 Mag.
I shoot in a bullseye league every week on Wednesday with a rimfire rifle and on Thursday it is 22lr pistol and center fire pistol.
My club also has a team competition I participate in where we shoot bullseye targets for a five week session. One week one handed pistol, two handed pistol, off hand rifle, benchrest riffle at 100 yds and then benchrest rifle at 50 yds. Due to the current cost of centerfire ammo it is all rimfire bullseye competitions. Pistol and rifle.
I also go to a nearby range and shoot my AR and my .223 bolt rifle a couple times a month. I'm contemplating getting back into rimfire benchrest competition at this range also.
Retirement is great! All those years working and raising a family just didn't allow for the time and money to do much shooting so I think I'm over indulging now.

Added: I need to clarify on the team shooting that we don't shoot every day for that week's target. The target is available at the range, you shoot it and then turn it in for scoring. You have one week to shoot each target at your convenience.

Hello, George. I'm addicted to firearms. Not just shooting. I enjoy shooting and I'm not sure I could stop at any time. However, I'm now a collector, so even away from the range I'm reading and studying about the older rifles (mainly) that fascinate me. I'm also a reloading and student of internal (more) and external (less) ballistics. Perhaps I'm a firearmaholic? It doesn't seem to affect my interactions with others or alter my life. Of course I'm retired and single...

You would be overindulging if your family members feel slighted.

They are more likely to be glad you are getting out of the house. Check with them. If they are happy, you can allow yourself to be happy.

My wife was cleaning the utility room today, and I offered to help. She told me to go shooting so I did.

In fact I just purchased and assembled a rolling mechanics cart simply to repurpose it into a mobile gun cleaning/maintenance platform. ;)

Hi, I’m Pat and I am a Shootaholic. I come to these online meetings of 2A Enablers Unanimous to help my affliction and to help others with theirs.
As well as shooting I am finding that I appear to have an affliction for hoarding. I hoard gun parts, grips, gun rugs, and tools.
I have also discovered that my get rich quick scheme involving precious metals is actually panning out. It seems that lead, copper and brass are up and comers in certain markets now, just not in the money markets. A little hoarding has paid off...;)
My family has developed “roll-eye disease” because of my afflictions so I have to stop telling everyone about my afflictions, but it’s very hard sometimes. I guess not everyone cares about Smith & Wessons, Rugers, Glocks, Marlins, Garands and Winchesters. Rattling off load recipes and various types of powders is good for a night in the hoosegow so I gotta tone it down sometimes and throw in some jargon about something called “current events” according to my Sponser Enabler.

So glad I found y’all. :D

I won it, and a couple years later a second Winchester distributor stool, in raffles at a L.E. charity shooting tournament Ive help organize for the past twelve years or so. Our Winchester distributor is awesome, he always comes through with neat stuff. Over the years I’ve also won the two pistol cleaning mats to the left and a rifle mat as well.

I’ve donated bricks of .22 ammo (In the past, pre-Ca background check rule :fire:) and at least ten of my camo-painted ammo cans for prizes. Its always a fun time.

Stay safe.

I took my three Glocks to the range this morning. I wasn’t shooting so hot. The guy next to me, a gent that I talk to on occasion, says “Here, try this one.” And he hands me a CZ75. He tells me the trigger is light, be careful.
I shot 5 rounds into a small group at ten yards exactly where I was aiming. Much better than I was doing with my Glocks.
As I handed him his gun back I thought of this thread.
“Enablers Anonymous “...Thanks @Riomouse911 :D Hit that mail right on the head!
