Well, COVID boredom and Christmas vacation got the better of me and I decided to clean up some guns that had been sitting around a long time. I took my Marlin 336T apart to clean inside and out and snapped the front barrel band screw putting it back together. It got a little canted and when I tried to bring it back in line - snap! Broke it right at the first thread.

The usual suspects - Numrich GPC, Jack First, Brownells, etc. - are out of stock. GPC has a new-made replacement for "newer" rifles that may fit but, I'd rather have a Marlin part that I know fits. Anybody got a front barrel band screw to sell or trade? PM me please.

Poppert's list the screw for $1.00.
I'd contact them to make sure they actually have it.......

I sure will, thanks. I hadn’t checked Popperts. The problem with where I have checked is they list it but it out of stock. A lot of places- no names mentioned- are real bad about saying they got it when what they mean is they can get it.
Thanks for the tip and I will try them:

Have you checked some of your local hardware stores? One of mine here carries gun screws. Yes, real gun screws in various sizes, lengths and heads, proper thread pitches, and all nicely blued.
