Please use the link below to encourage the Governor of Ohio to sign SB 140 removing outdated McCarthy era restrictions on knife owners.

While the Governor can ignore the bill and allow it to pass into law, it is always preferable to get their support in the form of signing. We certainly don't want a veto, so encourage him instead of hoping he'll let it become law. Send the link to as many people as possible whether through social media or email (carrier pigeon might take too long).

From what I read, in OH the governor has 10 days to make up his mind once he receives a bill.

No action at that point is an automatic pass. Then 90 days until it goes into effect.

Well, here's hoping he didn't wait to the last minute to put the kibosh on it.

The way I read the current knife carry law in OH, extremely ambiguous to the point of being very dangerous for anyone with so much as a small pocket knife on them.

In Ohio, bills take effect 90 days after the bill is journalized by the secretary of state after the governor signs it unless it contains an emergency clause. I don't see an emergency clause in this bill.

Just got an email from buckeye firearms association that says this bill was signed and will become law in 90 days. One more good thing for the buckeye state.
Thanks for posting this HSO, I was able to send an email to Dewine about it and I think I am on the kniferights email list now. I should have gotten on there a long time ago.
