Ammo hard to find or very high prices same with some kinds of guns, same with many accessories ( Vortex Spitfire 3x is on back order something I have been looking for) but for now most magazines are available and haven't risen much in price.

Later might be too late with all going on, just saying. I Still have a sticker on a G23 magazine I got in 1994 that says $90.................

I also own three SKS rifles with about 150 stripper clips and have 3K ammo for them.

Hopefully if there is a ban (I pray not) the 10 round non detachable fixed magazine of the SKS will be spared, like it was in California for example.

An SKS with a determined user with good stripper clips (mine are all Czech and smooth quality) is a force to be reckoned with and can deliver a steady volume of fire that would be um no fun at all to walk up against.

My Sig P225 (true German 225--not a P6) has about five magazines.

I'll never "need more" than a couple (it's Not a carry gun), but the fact that no OEM mags are available on Gunbroker is interesting. Only Promags are available.
Might look at EBay or Sig Talk etc.

Go price good condition P6 mags and get a shock.

Some 10 round AR mags may be a good idea now if they ban 30’s. Since they feel good about 10 vs 11+ that is.....

Except they don't feel good about any AR that holds any kind of mag.

I actually like ten-round AR15 mags, for general utility, range use, and when moving through really heavy brush. (The Big Thicket National Reserve is not far away; this is the wet, green, humid part of Texas.) I like twenties, too, as they are my favorites. And, yes, it is nice to have a few thirties. In 2020, I added tens and twenties, after I decided that I would be not only be sticking with the AR15/M4 5.56 platform, but adding more uppers and two more lowers, after the other three adults in the household expressed interest. (IIRC, a year ago, in early 2020, I was still considering shifting to a different auto-loading rifle system, as I find some others to be a bit more ergonomic, for me.)

I am in the opposite condition. I have a big rubber made bin full of magazines to guns I don't even own any more- or in some cases never owned. I have a second one full of various mags that I actually use. Having learned some hard lessons in the 90's, I started saving anything I acquired, found, etc. When I sold a gun that I had accumulated lots of magazines for, it normally got sold with 1 or 2 and I kept the rest. I have mags for AK, M14, MP5, G3, FAL, various SIGs and Glocks, M9, USP, a Taurus or 2, BHP, Glocks I no longer own, and who knows what else. I even have a C-mag in there somewhere, and I think a 33 round 9mm Glock "happy stick"- not to mention the excessive amounts of surplus AR type mags I don't even use. That bin doesn't take much room in the attic, and (unfortunately) may have been a good investment for future barter items and the like.

We can start another run and create a shortage..... Just ordered my extra mag - thanks. Just funning with you!

I purchased a banana box of 20rnd mags at an estate auction, some paper rapped and some plastic wrapped, most are metal, everyone thought I was crazy purchasing them but I prefer them over 30s and I paid about 1/4th what the box of 30s brought.
I was able to purchase used M&P mags for 40s&w for $8 ea at a gun&pawn that had some leo trade-ins, now to find some for my 45s.

I ordered a few online his week, and I noticed several were out of stock. Was specifically looking for USP Compact .45 mags. but they seem to be scarce and expensive right now. HK pistols also seemed to be in short supply.

Any magazines I felt I did not have enough of I ordered last week. Unless I pick up a new pistol I should have enough.

Now, if only the USPS can actually deliver them. Absolutely everything I have ordered after Christmas that is to be delivered by the USPS are days behind their estimated arrival date.

I'm surprised the mag supply has been good as long as it has during this run.
During the 2013-2017 weirdness, I was looking for a couple extra 10/22 mags for an Appleseed shoot. Finally found 'em at an online retailer, limit 2.
All common autoloader mags were either hard to find or bringing a premium.
If you're an AR man, now would be a good time to pick up a 10-pack.

I remember the ban. I didn't have any real gun stores locally and the internet wasn't "born" yet. Not in any real capacity at least.

I didn't know they were that high. I remember some stupid priced colts, AKs, and Olympics though.

I have a few Glock 22 I bought with two mags for 250-299. 226 for 350. USP for 400. And nobody bought them the last 4 years. Lol. Seemed like nobody paid attention to us "old guys". Ammo was cheap too but everyone said "I don't need any" when I sent them links. Now they think they need it at 10x the price.

I'll never give advice anymore. People didn't listen. Idk.

The war has been lost in our heads before it has even started - brave souls all.
Not trying to be defeatist or a alarmist starting another panic spree, at this point just trying be a realist because their are some at our gates at this point and they told us what they will do and they have the majority (possibly now) and telling THR members not to make the mistake I did in 1994 by waiting until prices skyrocketed.

I bought a TON of 30rd. AR magazines (and carry bags) during riot season, since I'm literally surrounded by high value targets.

I bought 1,000+ rounds of M193 twenty+ years ago when I had a problem with some Nazis. At the same time I bought a couple of cans of Greek M1 ball. I have so many Garand clips, I don't know just how many.

I've got more than enough magazines for my handguns, plus speedloaders.

I'm good.

Try WEEKS. I still haven't gotten a Christmas card my mother sent, and they lied about not being able to deliver a stereo receiver last week. I got it the next day.
