Have a line on a used 986 at a local shop, and need some opinions.
-Shop is asking $925, no box or moon clips; the gun is like new.
-What is the consensus on this model as regards accuracy and reliability?
-Any thot's on moon clip brands? I've found SpeedBeeze, TKs , Revolver Supply and Ranch Products.
Like autopistol rounds in revolvers, and this looked like an interesting addition, but I'll have to hear what yinz think.
Thanks,
Moon

I paid $1100 for a new 986 5" barrel four or five years ago. $950 for a new 2-1/2" barrel two or three years ago.

They have been good revolvers, accurate and reliable.

I bought TK Custom moon clips and a BMT Equipped mooner/demooner tool. The BMT Equipped tool is a bit pricey for many, but it is the cats meow for loading/unloading moon clips.

The gun is at a country gunshop, and it has been sitting there for awhile, plus the lack of box and clips. I've a 94 Win for trade bait; we'll see if the owner is rational. Don't really think the price is terrible, but don't have to have it either.
No preferences on brand of moonclips?
BTW, have a Chiappa 9mm revo, and that thing is a ball to shoot.
Thanks, guys.

I’ve been happy with TK moon clips. I have some older .040 ones that are just right, the new .038 one work fine too. I’ll also second the BMT Mooner, it really is the best tool to load and unload moon clips. I don’t have your model that you’re looking at but love my 929.
