I’ve never heard of Evans before...apparently another English arms maker of safari-caliber guns.

The Evans I was referring to was an American company. They did make a number of Evans repeating rifles and it was a cool design, but had a real weakness in the way you loaded it.

Merwin & Hulbert heavily invested in the Evans rifle and this investment help lead to Merwin & Hulbert going out of business.

I love that rifle you attached, any clue to the year??? Those are wonderful rounds.. Wonderful art work.. thanks..

Wow RioMouse911 this is really neat.

the Evans repeater was made by Evans Rifle Manufacturing Company of Mechanic Falls Maine the 1870s by George & Warren R. Evans.

The Evans rifles from England was started in 1883 by William Evans..
