Many of the GB auctions for "original" Colts have expired with no bidders and have not been re-listed!
Maybe they went phishing in other waters???

No response to my report and my post on their message board was closed. I mostly wanted to see how they'd react. Apparently Gunbroker doesn't give a damn about fraud until someone gets cheated.

Here was the PM I got from their moderator.

"Craig,

Gunbroker DOES NOT condone fraud and any mention of this by you is totally fallacious!

Get a grip! Lose the attitude! You are not the only one having problems. Your snotty, uncalled for slanderous statements will not advance your need for answers.

Gunbroker Forums are separate from the Gunbroker Auctions. The forums exist for discussions and have no actionable contact with the Auctions.

Your only avenue is to use the Support system withing the Auction side. Once in line with your question wait for them to contact you. Support responses are not instantaneous no matter how demanding you want to be. They are swamped with the huge crush of auctions taking place every second. They are NOT simply sitting on their hands waiting for you to ask a question.

If you've filed a support issue, wait for them to contact you."

That's what I thought. So I guess they really don't care about fraudulent listings and will get testy if you point it out.

My profile looks like this now:

Warning Level 3·EXPIRESJANUARY 28
You are jailed.
  • Can't post discussions.
  • Can't post as often.
  • Signature hidden.

I wouldn't worry about being "jailed". I'd never want to have any kind of association with a web site/organization having such a callous attitude and an utter absence of scruples. "...Neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you."

That escalated quickly.

You have to be a registered user of the auction site and in good standing to even see the forums. I've been buying and selling on Gunbroker for 19yrs and that is how quickly they banned me.

It's a new math thing -

You cost GB money by shedding doubt on the authenticity of a potential sale. La, La, La, La, they don't want to hear you.
The seller is only trying to line the pockets of GB with a bit of poetic license to encourage a higher price.
Who you going to side with?
The folks that say your baby is ugly, or the ones who say its so cute, and here's a couple bucks to buy her something special.

Fishy looking.if real wouldn't the price be much higher.

Sort of looks like the front end was disconnected and somehow relic'ed. Notice how the barrel and release pins have uniform wear, with the cylinder, which is uniform, from the rear of the cylinder, to the tip of the barrel? Either the pictures are not that great, or the wear wouldn't be so uniform. Then the grip and trigger group are all clean and smooth- seems fishy. Wear should be higher at the front of the cylinder, and rear of the barrel, and taper off to the front of the barrel, and towards the rear of the cylinder.

I'm no expert, tho, and for 4K, I would get a professional's opinion.

Deals nowadays are hard to find. That price is WAY too cheap. A chicken is a chicken,a duck is a duck but that isn't what they are trying to advertise. Beating someone out of hard earned money is just wrong.
