Hell, I'll pop for two if it's at least Taiwan and not the ChiComs. One site said the steel was Japanese. So, could be RoC.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Todd.

Yeah, that's the normal price for it. I like that it says it's on sale though.:D

Thanks for looking.

They’re still fun knives and cheap enough it doesn’t matter if you lose it.

I had read that on some site. Interesting accommodation for the market and they STILL sell it so cheaply.

Guess I'm in for one or two to have as spares.

Well dammit I ordered one in D2. I don't normally buy knives made outside the US but being an auto was a big plus. Plus it wasn't made in China. Seems like a good knife though, can't wait to try it.

Ordered mine in AUS8. I don’t know much about D2, how do you like it.

Aus8 is similar to 440C while D2 is tougher with better edge retention, but less corrosion resistant (as long as both are properly heat treated). Here's a nice illustration of edge retention based on side by side cutting test with the Ontario Rat (a good test since same company's products).

So then, one on the way. Less than 4 sawbucks. No tax, no shipping, not ChiCom.... What's not to love?

Question though; They offer replacement springs. Should I care?

I've never given a thought to weak or broken springs on an auto other than - ironically - USGI autos which seem to have been made new with stupidly weak springs.
