It takes two men and a small boy to pull the trigger!

That's what my Dad use to say about changing a flat tire on a car back in the '30s and '40s! Back then they had all steel wheels and it really did take extra help to move those wheels around!

Because now they are going to sell a large number of birdshead grips. It's all about marketing.

The birdshead stocks won't fit the plowhandle frame. I think I read that Heritage will sell a birdshead frame by itself, though, to anyone wanting one. Might be easier to just "MTP" (Michael-Tinker-Pierce) the barrel on a pre-existing birdshead model, though.

Why Rough Rider didn’t decide to make this in a birdcage style grip is anyone’s guess.

Maybe they don't know what that would be..? Round, ribbed, and hollow? ;)

...

Heritage sells replacement grip frames

The grips and frames are indeed available on their website. Not expensive either. I may order one for one of my 4.5 inch models. I already tried it out with a swap from my 3.5 inch birds head and it was quite comfortable on the longer barrel.

Take that exact gun.
Make it DA, but keep it looking SA. Call it “stealth DA.”
Make the cylinder hold 8 or even 9 rounds of WMR.
That, right there, is something I’d want.
As it stands now, it seems like a gun for the man who already has everything.
Heritage does seem really averse to making the short barrel models with a 9rd cylinder. One thing that 9 rd cylinder wouldn't have an issue with in this Barkeep is the having to get the indexing just right to line up the ejector rod and the chambers since this doesn't use an ejector rod at all.

I actually meant the grip frame and stocks. They have them on their website for sale.

Would be nice to see if Ruger brought one out the wrangler but in the bird head (not bird cage my apologies) and ivory handles.

would make a great trap line gun or finishing shot on a deer etc. could be an ideal tackle box or kit gun. The wrangler is very good but a little big for what it is and the bearcat is too expensive for what you get.
