AIM Surplus sells a slide completion kit they market as acceptable for both the G17 and G22. This build would be for a G22/40S&W.

I notice in other kits the G22 has a separate part number vs the G17 extractor.

There're a few people in the reviews for this slide completion kit that say it works fine in a G22.

Anyone have insight or experience on this?

They are different extractors, but the difference is very slight, and has to do with the slight angle on the actual extractor claw on one of them. I can't remember which one is flat sided (claw) and one has a slight angle. I've personally found that one can use the extractors interchangeably but YMMV. I find I get BTF fairly often with my Gen 3s regardless of which extractor I use. I've tried updating the ejector as well... no real difference I can tell.

I asked the same question of a friend who works for Glock. He told me that they are different, but sometimes you can get away with not changing it.

I've used both extractors and experimented using a G17 extractor in a G22 and vice versa. The weapon functioned fine either way. But, these were built for fun shooting at the range, and I would not do this with something I needed to rely upon.

I'll post pics of the difference between the two extractors later today...

Same results I have had. Been 100% flawless at the range, but would not use it for a Duty/HD/CCW pistol.
