Whoever makes the money is the one who should pay. Ask the IRS. Otherwise, making money would be real easy.

Since AL went "pay per view"?
You can look at all the ads you want to. When you contact a buyer they want you to be a member.

I guess they took their que from dating sites.

Maybe they just figured the market is so scorching hot, try to make some money.

This is the "bs" about the new, Peoples' Demokratik Armslist in a nutshell.
.
Ahhh, it is capitalism. With capitialism people try selling stuff at a price they want to sell. Sometimes they get it, sometimes they don't.

Crack me up this comment. Not in a good way. What I find disturbing lately in society, is people that don;t understand the Consitution or capitalism.

Berserker: That's a valid point. I'll admit that my comment didn't seem to allow capitalism.

As least Gunbroker allows any viewer to send any seller a simple question or two, without the red tape of first requiring financial info.
My eighteen (or so) Armslist deals in the last several years were so simple. The recent change is the main reason I acquired my last two handguns from Gunbroker (and west TN has a Fraction of the gun variety on Armslist compared with east TN) .

It’s probably actually more about constant spam requests to posts.

Do you know for a fact they ask for this?

If it were true BS. But I get what they are doing, trying to limit lawsuits and accusations criminals are buying.
If you want to be a member on Armslist, yes you need to pay by CC or bank debt.

Tried this morning 1-19 and they are not Accepting new accounts at this time!! Yet the ads are up, but you need an account to contact?? My guess they are headed for a shut down. Stupid is what stupid does.

Seems like in my area it’s most scammers and price gougers anyway.
And the sad part is, perusal of the site in my area seems as though the scammers continue unabated. Lots of $600 Pythons, etc., with photos copied from the web or Gunbroker. Scamming must be pretty lucrative since now they have to pay a subscription to place their ads.

Its like fishing. Some buy expensive lures to catch the big one's. What's$10 a month when folks are sending$600? Or more!!! For absolutely nothing.

I've had good luck with AL. If I was looking serious, maybe I would consider paying $3 for a month, to avoid shipping and FFl. Hard to find local sales otherwise. Though I think having seller would get more people.

They may be going bankrupt from lawsuits, and quit taking new members. Let the monthly feed run out. My major complaint is the way the sized down the search engine. You could choose area, caliber, brand, ect. Now I mainly use keyword for my state.

In this climate, if not legal troubles, I would think they would be making money regardless.

I used it. Paid the three dollar fee from a bank account. Sold 2000 primers for $350. Well worth it. Nothing is free guys. You can’t sell things on eBay and not pay a fee. I don’t think it’s too much to ask.
