What’s your favorite semiauto?

Glock in 9mm.

I'm fortunate enough to own all the high end pistols from around the world. Been collecting and evaluating for a long, long time.

I definitely can't pick one favorite or probably even less than 15-20 favorites. That being said, I firmly believe the FK BRNO Field Pistol is the most capable semi auto handgun ever built. Extreme accuracy out to 150 yards plus, outstanding build quality, perfect fit and finish, 100% reliability (so far), and cool looks. Add all that to the fact that it hold 17 rounds that produce 950 ft/lbs of muzzle energy each and capable and incredible destruction and penetration. Recoil is stout, but easily manageable.

There's really nothing better for all around performance. Even the big magnum autos, of which I own and have owned many, pale in comparison. While a 50AE Desert Eagle might produce more energy per round, it’s ridiculously impractical and can’t hold a candle to the FK’s down range performance and accuracy.

bc1023,
That is quite a handsome pistol. I have never heard of these. Thank you.

Glad you like it. The issue for everyone is the $7500 price. They did recently introduce the PSD which fires the same round, plus can be converted to shoot common rounds.

It costs less than a quarter of the Field Pistol. That being said, the barrel is shorter and I like the 6” barrel to maximize velocity. It’s also polymer framed, which I don’t do other than a couple carry guns.

I’m not interested in a $1600 polymer pistol that may or may not approach the Field Pistol’s accuracy and certainly doesn’t have the appearance or build quality. It’s all or nothing with me.

riverats, nice piece...is the hardchrome factory?
A tank to carry, but a great pistol. Pricey, but great.

Thank you, sir ... the hard chrome was done by Tripps, back when they did such things. That said, many a P7-series pistol left HK Oberndorf with a factory nickel finish.

I purchased that particular M8 & all its’ factory accoutrements from a retired LEO back in the early-90s, for a mere $550. I sent it off to Sterling for HK to go through it and two weeks & $110 later, it was returned with all new springs, a new (updated) drop safety & a new piston.

It’s been a great pistol & in addition to 100 other reasons, I especially like its’ historic, Made In W. Germany rollmark.

Gorgeous......but.......those grips.......;)

What box?

My handguns were selected for their design quality.
If a gun must have a warranty for an owner to have peace of mind- I literally would not want such a gun.

Sig P225, Walther P99, CZ PCR, S&W 6904.
All are favorites.

I'm fickle, and a "love the one you're with" type. Sometimes my (EDC) Beretta, others a 1911, Tanfoglio, well you get it... I "re-find" the cool aspects of the ones I never sold regularly. So I guess if I still have it, they're all my fave.

My HK Mark 23 for sure. It's the only handgun I want to shoot and carry at this point.

You carry it???

Is your plan to yell "Time Out" and then draw? :neener:

I am kind of enamored by mine, but would prefer a slightly larger safety and wouldn't dream of carrying. Course I have smaller 45ACP guns that actually hold more.

You lost me at “out of the box, no mods needed.”

One old favorite, a SIG P229R DAK, my duty pistol for eleven years, that my arthritis prompted me to retire from shooting, has a different rear sight, but it is still a SIG sight, just without tritium inserts. DAK was my choice, BTW, as DA/SA was the norm, for those of us who opted for SIGs.

My Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special has a different rear sight than the original, and different grips.

My Les Baer Premier II, customized by Harrison, for the previous owner, is certainly not “out of the box,” and has certainly been modified.

My Les Baer Monolith has the Baer ambidextrous safety, with that wide gas-pedal-style thumb lever, that needs to be ground-away and refinished, because it keeps my hand from being able to properly engage the grip safety, when shooting right-handed.

That leaves a plain Glock Gen4 G17, which replaced my P229R DAK as my duty pistol, as soon as my chief OK’ed 9mm as an alternative duty cartridge, in 2015. Its out-or-the-box tritium sights work well, which I cannot say about the garbage tritium that was delivered on my newer G19x. I don’t have any photos of this Gen4 G17. In its utilitarian way, it has earned my favor, even if I have no hope of ever shooting it as accurately as a 1911.

Favorite for ccw: Glock 26
Favorite for house pistol: Glock 19
Favorite for enjoyment/pride of ownership: Beretta 92 and/or my SA Mil Spec 1911

Some of you fellas have some great pics and awesome pistols in this thread!
