I found my model 60-7 box. It has a special order number of 4136 indicating day 136 of 1994. I think 1990 was the first year of production. I don't know what the last production year was. Thanks very much for the info.
The 29-3 was made from '82 to '87. In todays market, Id expect an 8" example to have $1100-1500 on the tag, depending on condition.I didnt see any replies the first time so I'm posting again...I could use help with this please.

a) 32 Long CTG
b) 3 ¼ , yes, from cylinder to muzzle
c) square
d) six
e) fixed
f) # under crane 62470
g) # 5977xx (face of cylinder)
h) and a lot of words
Thanks for the info, got this from an old friend (he has passed away) and he served in Military Intelligence in Germany after WW II.Nice looking .32 Regulation Police. On the front of the grip frame you should find the same serial number that you show in g). I am guessing post WW2, and not long before it gained Model 31 status based upon cylinder release, but that is only a SWAG on my part.

___________________________This going to be a thread for those who are looking for a date of manufacture for their S&W revolvers.
We'd need to know :
a) caliber
b) bbl length (from cylinder to muzzle)
c) grips shape (round or square)
d) number of shots/cylinder bores
e) type of sights.
f) serial number, and if there is a letter in front of or anywhere near the s/n on the bottom of the grip
g) Model number if it is under the crane.
That number, if it is the s/n, should come from the butt of the grip (or under the barrel or face of the cylinder).
A picture or two is worth A LOT of words in this case...
sidearm; a 38 M&P of 1905, 4th change. This version's serial number range was 241704-1,000,000 and the dates of production were 1915 to 1942. Heat treated cylinders started with serial number 316648.
Is that a nickel finished and is it marked "Texas State Prison"?
From what I can find in my book, it looks to be a 38 Military & Police of 1905, 1st change, possibly overlapping with the same model 2nd change as the serial number range is 73251-146899. This would have been made somewhere around 1909 or earlier. Price range is hard to say, especially in today's market, but condition seems to be "fair" (although the grips look to be in great shape). Per my 3rd Edition which dates back to 2006, value was ~$150 and up. There is a more recent edition from S&W which might have different values.
