Give it to me straight, how bad (or good) is this?

I counted 79. That's pretty decent IMO. Up until this year I shot in a winter air pistol league and the best shooters averaged about 85-87. Not Olympians but pretty decent Bullseye shooters. Me, I was ecstatic with anything approaching 80. Don't let the keyboard marksmen run you down.

Due to covid I've been shooting my Daisy 747 in my basement since a little after Christmas. I'd not be upset with that target. Those 6's are trigger control issues. I have plenty of those myself.

1) Will time between his shots with a CO2 pistol influence pellet flight, is there an optimum dwell/recharge time?
Shooting rapidly will drop the temperature of the gas more rapidly and therefore lower the pressure more than shooting slower. I think that's an unregulated gun so that would result in velocity dropping off faster than it would otherwise.

I think the key is keeping the delay between shots consistent, more than it is a matter of finding an optimum delay between shots.
2) Since it's back yard shooting, what about ambient temperature's effect?
Lower temperature means lower velocity. Changes in velocity will result in changes in point of impact.

In practice, unless the temperature changes a lot during the shooting session, I wouldn't expect it to have much of an effect. One might have to adjust the sights differently for shooting on a hot day vs. a cold day.

I've shot Meisterkulgeln’s in the past league shooting. Switched over to Creedmore Match pellets. Same results, couple bucks a tin cheaper.

I finally had the time and inclination to shoot a 10m/one hand target, actually it was more like 11 yards but in the ballpark. I don't typically shoot one handed and its been a while since I have had the pistols out so I am pretty happy with this. I shot two targets to get a feel for the gun and practice a bit and then shot this one.

I didn't have an official 10m air pistol target but if I remember correctly the black on those is around 2 inches. My targets are 2.5 inches all so again, in the ballpark, I think, unless I am completely wrong about the 2 inch black on the official targets (I am not a competitor, I don't have the eyes, skill, or talent to be one) so if I am wrong correct me please.

Gun is a FAS 6004 single stroke pneumatic. Good trigger, really wide front site post. This is 9 or 10 shots (I lost count). The one to the right WAY off the target was all me, all day. I jerked that trigger and ham fisted that grip something fierce so I cannot blame it as a flyer. There is a hit to the right of the star that the paper flatted back out and covered the hole.

With a 2 handed grip I am able to tighten things up quite a bit. I don't normally shoot one handed. On this group I used JSB pellets, as I am experimenting with them. My rifles don't seem to like them so I wanted to try them in the pistols so......I took this opportunity.
The pellets are flying so slow out of this gun they are tearing even my heavy card stock paper. :(

One more and once again when comes to shooting or drinking I am much better two fisting :D so again two handed. 5 shots. These JSB's do seem to like the pistols, at least this pistol.

Here is my "pistol range". Measured off it comes out to about 36 feet and change to the target. So a tiny bit more then 10 meters, but bigger targets so.........

Fun stuff. Its been too long since I have had the air pistols out. I have been shooting the rifles a TON.

First session shooting my first pellet pistol. With ammo such a pain to find, I needed something else to shoot, or I was going to go nuts. I love shooting groups, and might even consider getting a nicer air pistol and competing.

So, in the world of air pistols, how did I do? This was my best 10 shot group. 10 meters, 1 handed.

Crosman 2300s custom shop if anyones curious.
Well in my opinion while not maybe olympic quality, but for a first session you did exceptionally well...

Is that top one a Beeman? I seem to recall I had one as a kid back in 2004 and it was much more accurate than I was skilled enough at the time to take advantage of. The “compensator” at the end of the barrel made it extremely easy to craft a simple suppressor for it and the noise after that was accomplished was just about zero.

Thanks for bringing back those memories!
