Ruger PC carbines. Thoughts?

I have one and found it a fun gun and shot it in PCC matches. Easy to use. I'm not a fan of aftermarket parts in general. I just added an optic, that also allows seeing the iron sights. I put in the Glock magwell as I have lots of Glock mags. It is good for IDPA, USPSA and steel. The disassembly makes cleaning easy.

9mm (when it exists) is easy to shoot.

It also has the advantage in today's times of being legit even in 'ban' states if you have 10 round mags. That makes it a good travel gun (following the transportation laws, of course).

Lots of folks in TX and NYS have them. It could have been a touch more compact but that's the way it goes.

I'm very happy with mine,it is a accurate reliable firearm. I put a RDS on it. I also bought the Ruger backpack ,you would have no idea there was a carbine, mags and ammo in it. I like that the Ruger logo patch is affixed to it with Velcro for instant removal.

I have a Ruger PC Carbine but in my case it has been retired in favor of their PC Charger offering which suits my needs better.

The carbine is a fine gun IMO. There is a trigger upgrade that is worthwhile but I don't remember who makes it. One of several aftermarket charging handles might fit your needs; in my case the stock version works a bit better. Midwest Industries offers an MLOK handguard if you end up with an older model with the tapered forend. The downside is the MI handguard is about $150.

I’ve got the model 19122. I like everything about it, other than it is a bit on the heavy side. Reliable, accurate, soft-shooting. I got some M*CARBO upgrades - I believe TandemKross also has an upgrade package - including the trigger and trigger springs, recoil spring, and charging handle. Frankly they did nothing for me so I took them all back off. I put a small flashlight, a Romeo 5 red dot, a removable Juliet 3 magnifier, and a cheap set of BUIS on it. You can run Glock mags if you like, I’m not a Glock guy so I stuck with the Ruger mags. All in all a very nice firearm, in my opinion.

I have an original PC9 and find it to be outstanding. Works great with my P89. Not much interest in a new one.

I have the original in 40. Other than the trigger was terrible, it is a solid rifle. I did get the trigger smoothed, much better now. I would prefer to be able to use Glock mags, but having a rifle in 40 is enjoyable.

I have coworkers who like theirs, and havent heard a complaint. I wouldn't mind getting the charger version, but with 9mm hard to get, plus the potential brace ban, I'm putting it off. It also costs way to much by the time you equip it, $1000+ between brace, red dot, and mags.

Great PCC. They literally need nothing done to them beyond adding your choice of optic.

I plan on SBR-ing one of the Chargers when I can get one.

A word of warning, the "regular" forearm is lighter and balances better than the MLOK, which is front heavy.

Before Zombieland (Covid) broke out I was on the hunt for one. I'll still be getting one just not anytime real soon. The last thing I need is another firearm that eats more ammo right now :) I'd likely be looking to put some kind of red dot sight on it.

I've got the PC Carbine, and it's a solid shooter out of the box. As a lefty, I especially appreciate the charging handle and mag release are reversible, and safety is replaceable easily. Wish, though, it was a straight "flip it over and reinstall", but, oh well. It pairs nicely and shares mags with my SR9C. I have been on the hunt for a PC Charger, and finally found one for a reasonable price, and it's at my local FFL awaiting pickup! Sadly, I did buy a brace, but took the brace ice fishing to show it off, and, well, you can imagine the rest of that story. But I do have an optic and the replacement safety right here on the desk. Need to research a can that will work for both....

can always feed it when ammo becomes available.

I have 2 aftermarket parts from M*Carbo.Their extractor and butt stock pad/riser,both excellent products with fast service.
The pad is great with the Romeo 5. Gets my eye to the right height and I didn't care for the feel of stock finish on my beard. I used the AR height mount on the R5. I have an astigmatism,so to clean up the dot for distance I mounted a BUS I took off my AR556. If I want to shoot distance,I flip it up and through the aperture the dot is sharply defined. Closeup I don't care if it is a blob.

I have the 9MM, put a RDS on it with high mounts so the sights are still usable and swapped out the Ruger mag well for the included Glock one. That's it.

I have had one for quite a while, before the ammo shortage, and it runs great! It is a family favorite and anyone who has shot a 10/22 can run it with no problems. I use Glock and Magpul 21 mags with no problems.

I added an MCarbo extractor and trigger. I did not need either part, but the MCarbo stuff is nice and l like the feel of the trigger.

Overall, an A+ in my book!

I love mine. Bone stock. No aftermarket parts. Takes glock mags. Runs on anything I feed it. Zero recoil. More accurate than me. Use mine for home defense and just general plinking.

My only issue is not having a trainload of 9mm for mine. I have an extended magazine release and added a larger bolt handle (and left the OEM handle on the other side) so I can run it lefty and others can run righty. I have a Romeo 5 on it and it's been flawless. The cheek weld is very low, even for the iron sights. With an optic it's a jowl weld at best. :D
