His will be based on an ancient ethnic 1911 magazine design, but executed in plastic...er, 'Grivory' and you'll be able to chop down trees with it.
He'll then rail that Wilson, Tripp and Brown don't know anything about magazines for 1911's.

Cool. Hope he puts out some neat stuff. Glad to hear some of the lines which I thought GSM may let die will stay with Thompson and so should survive.
Yes, have to listen to some hype but in general I feel I have gotten really good value from the CS stuff I bought.

I think that actually plays a considerable part. When the sale of CS was made public, some of the comments by the ignorant/bitter/doltish "experts" were real eye-rollers. I don't know LCT, but I have talked to him a number of times at various parking lot sales at their old HQ in Ventura. He seemed to be a very enthusiatic, very high energy, salesman. Nothing negative, or particularly positive.
Like him or loath him, you can't deny he's lead a life bigger than most. He's been a stalwart supporter of Knife Rights when other manufacturers waffled.

Nah, while I will always buy his "special" line as I am a huge fan of affordable melee weapons, I dont really want to be LT or live his life. I make my living in sales. My job is to sell the quality of my family's work. We are successful. Not Cold Steel successful, but that isn't our aim anyway. When I do my job correctly, I need not overtly tell you that we are the best at what we do nor do I need to tell you that my competition is lesser. That angle worked by Cold Steel has always been the one thing that rubbed me the wrong way since I started watching their Proof videos 20+ years ago. Its just not how my dad or grandpa taught me to do business, as entertaining as they are.
Also, I find big game hunting abhorrent. Feed yourself? Of course. Cull the herd? We are natural apex predators for a reason and their is merit in violent mercy. Travel all over the globe and shoot things because you are rich enough? Meh... hard pass for me. Then again, im a softie for animals and see less ethical dilemma with a Most Dangerous Game style of hunt anyway. So no, im not jealous of LT.
Actually, if we are talking about being envious of players in the knife community, I can think of at least 6 others I am quite jealous of. 3 of which I know personally, but none of have garnered my very humble and unimportant admiration because of theatrics. Quite the contrary.

There's a great deal of unearned negativity being spewed about GMSO, CS and LCT.
Let's be honest. LCT is living what appears to be a financially successful, fairly exciting life, smack dab in the middle of an industry that many of us appreciate. He's also very visible and very loud/opinionated. As someone noted he's been an important voice in the knife world for a lot of years now. That grinds away at many. Particularly the envious.
Now that the GMSO/CS marriage and LCT's new company appear to be slowing gaining their sea legs, it's highly amusing to watch the harshest critics -- the ones that popped-off based on emotion and not the facts, begin to tap-dance to justify their earlier comments.
Only time will tell what will ultimately be the product of all these changes. One thing is for absolute certain though. A lot of the nasty attacks on GMSO/CS/LT weren't based on history/facts, and they provide grave insights into the people making them.

I don't understand the apathy towards Lynn based on the way he advertises his products or because of a one off encounter at a trade show 25 years ago. I care more about the quality of the product being delivered, the longevity of said product, price, and function and CS under Lynn has checked all those boxes for years and, not resting on their laurels, has continued to bring new products to market.
In addition to the manufacturing side of his company, Lynn has long been a proponent for the use of knives and other melee weapons for self defense as the 2nd amendment doesn't begin and end at just guns. I mean, had some of the knives CS has made over the years been presented to executives of other companies in product development meetings the Execs would have had heart attacks and denigrated the knives for being "too scary." Beyond knives, Lynn and CS have been active in support of all forms of the 2nd amendment including firearms.
Can't say the same for other knife and melee weapon manufacturers.

As to the new company Never Unarmed, my and other's suspicions about the non knife items was correct, it appears that Cold Steel will be dropping the halberds and maces and lots of other things. Those were the unique items that have largely attracted me to Cold Steel and clearly things that Lynn Thompson has had a huge interest in given they're not exactly the bread and butter cash cows that the knives have been for Cold Steel for decades.
Lynn is going to have a veritable playground and he could literally start producing anything. With the US now completing its transition into the United Socialist States of America, expect more restrictions to be passed on knife ownership and possession outside the home, thus there's going to be an increasing market for self defense weapons that aren't knives.
Count me in as not only intrigued, but eager to see what Lynn and the new company bring to market in the future.

Halberd and maces? Sorry but why?
Are these for historical reenactment? If so, replicas can be made or bough cheaply. And I can’t imagine what anyone would be using a mace or halberd for if not historical reenacting/renessaince.

Maybe he'll bring back control feed? I think it would be the only 8 round control feed mag available.... but no, its going to be a copy of the CMC design, that's all the market wants. But if he can cut through mats with it, or abuse a pig, it will make a good infomercial!

Because people enjoy collecting. To study and actually touch the object. To display. To use in reenacting. I don't think most people can make their own halberd or maces. I don't think they can buy quality copies for less, either.
I recently bought an M1892 Bayonet for the exact reasons listed above.
