What did you shoot today?

A) Ruger Mark IV .22 (Standard).
After removing about 1/2" total from the recoil spring (Reduced Power by Volquartsen->> even this "stock" spring wasn't much help<<),
this newish gun is - finally - extremely reliable with both bulk Federal 'blue box' and Federal Automatch brands.

The Golden Bullet ammo was far more reliable even before the spring was shortened.

B) 1940s or early 50s Savage 2B: .22 LR.

New to me, Kimber K6s 2" DAO ... started with some 38 Special Personal defense, moved up to some 38 Special +P+ and lastly a cylinder of 357 ... the personal defense and +P+ were nice but the 357 was uncomfortable to my shoulder, it wasn't that much more recoil so its most likely more of a result of my arthritis than caliber itself.

Then a couple mags from my SiG 556-SBR at 100, 150 & 200 yards

Lastly, my Ruger 22/45 with a form 1 suppressor I'd built ... a little disappointed in the suppression but was still hearing safe even with mini-mags, standard velocity was of course better and although the sub-sonic ammo I'd brought wouldn't cycle the pistol, it was even quieter still.

Hi...
Spent a few hours at one of the local gun clubs where we have memberships.
Shot my Model29, one of my Virginian Dragoons, my Dan Wesson and Ruger Super Blackhawk...all in .44Magnum.
Also spent some time sighting in my new to me 3 screw Blackhawk in .357Magnum.
Shot a few rounds through a recently acquired Dan Wesson .357Maximum chronographing loads and fine tuning the sights.
Shot a couple hundred rounds through my two 1911 carry guns and a couple of my son's .45ACP pistols, as well as both of his 10mm handguns.

Wandered over to the rifle range and discovered that while we had ammunition, we neglected to grab any magazines for the ARs. Shot a handful of rounds feeding them one at a time.
Did run a couple of rounds through my Sako .308 rifle and my son shot a couple of rounds through his Tikka .308 at the 200 yd steel gong.

Wind had gotten pretty stiff by that point, so we decided we had reached the point of diminishing returns and went to lunch.

New Taurus 856 3" stainless.

A family member wanted a simple sd gun for cross country road trips. Simplicity was a priority. That meant revolver. Budget was tight. That steered me to Taurus - that plus the fact that the 856 is a 6 shot as opposed to the 85 and other J frame size revolvers being 5.

Good value at just under 4 bills. 3" bbl is a plus , 6 shot is a plus , front sight very bright and functional. A Taurus is a Taurus. Refined as a S&W? No. Functional good return for the dollar? Yes.

Volquartsen Black Mamba. I decided to shoot iron sights for a while so I put a new fiber optic up front and a new Ruger Target Rear Sight. Started sighting in at 7 yards 1 inch low so I would be dead on from 15 to 35 for Steel Challenge matches.

This combination shoots great. I tried Federal 36 grain and the gun really like them. I then tried to put some Wolf ME through it and all 50 rounds went off with no problems. They did shoot better than the Federal but at almost 2.5 times the cost I'll leave the Wolf for next time I want to shoot Bullseye.

Ruger Mark IV Standard.
Here.................MAK 90, in 7.62x39. How was she able to pose with one of my imported AKMs, similar wooden furniture?

Large plastic orange juice bottles jumping upwards and sideways on the Action Pistol berm! Weed eater cord let’s them “boogie” out to about three feet from the metal rod. The bottles jump like a startled cat.
So nice Not to be concerned, not one bit, about marching to the "need a fairly tight group to "show" the Internet " drummer rhythm, although some similar-looking, Czechpoint VZ-58s can achieve 1.64 MOA (Rob Ski/AKOU, on Youtube).

Shot my S&W22 Victory yesterday for CWP qualifying. I picked it because I have the most ammo for it. Took my class through Shooting Solutions in Loris SC. If you are in the Grand Strand or PeeDee area I would highly recommend them.

Had a great day at the range yesterday. I had my Taurus 415 41mag and a few others. There were 2 younger shooters (early 20s) shooting their 9mms. Asked if they wanted to try the 41. They both ran a cylinder through the gun. I was impressed how well they shot it as it's not an easy gun to fire. They liked shooting the little hand cannon.

WisBorn,
I feel the same way about my 415. I did a lot of trigger work on it to smooth out the grittiness and dehorned it for carry. I really smoothed out the trigger guard and the trigger as well.
Here mine with my other two .41mag revolvers.

Ran my new to me Marlin 60W, Taurus TX22 Competition, and 1895 Nagant Revolver. Along with my regular TX22, Heritage Bar Keep, my CCW Sig P365. Marlin 60W was used with a tasco scope and would not sight in anymore so I removed it and used the iron sights. Nagant Revolver was interesting to shoot. Was soft shooting, yes horrible trigger but accurate when you figure out how to sight it. TX22 Competition needed to be sighted in. After getting it decent the group's were much tighter with the red dot than my regular TX22. Target shot shows regular at 5 yards on the left and the Competition on the right at 5 yards. Found the base plate loose when I got home which explains the loss of zero at the end of the session

I went out for some range therapy after work today. I had my NAA Black Widow and Ruger Mk. IV. I started with the Black Widow at about 10 yards, took a couple of shots to get the holdover then started moving back. I was shooting at a 3 x 5 card. When I could hit it twice I took a step back. I was at close to 15 yards when I'd gone through 15 rounds and decided to quit.

I took 50 shots with the Mk. IV. from 25 yards at a six inch bullseye. It was a nice way to wrap up a crazy week.
