Something to ponder.

If you take a hard look at this list, you wouldn't get any medical care, listen to any music, watch any movies and basically live in your zombie apocalypse bunker with food you grew and killed on your own. Good luck with that.

So you shouldn't even try? Are there no alternatives? Sure, if your employer only offers Blue Cross then use it. But there are lots of clothing makers out there. Do you really need to get your denim from Levi?

I am not going to live under a rock (don't have a bunker) but I also try not to support anti-gun companies. Examples: I don't buy Levi's, will not shop at Dick's Sporting Goods and have not utilized my REI membership since the Vista debacle.

I am sure there are quite a few places that get my money, that support anti-gun causes. But not if I know about it.

I really don't know. Are there? If you do this for every single company out there, you will find things they do that you may not morally agree with. So a company is Pro 2nd Amendment. But employs child labor in China to make their products. Or they support terrorism because they fund certain programs in suspect countries. Or they support Anti-Semitism, Bigotry, or Sexual Harassment. Which is more important? That is a very deep rabbit hole. And, I don't find these lists very trustworthy. There is always some hidden agenda behind these types of lists and unless you start really digging deep you really have no way of verifying everything they do or don't do. Or who they really support. Did you watch the Super Bowl last night? How could you?? The NFL supports players that abuse women!

Nope, haven't watched NFL or NBA for going on 4-5 years now that they have become political. Haven't missed it (that much), much of the professional athletes are overpaid whiners that hate what this country is about and are immoral, so I had to ask myself, "isn't there something better to do with one's time, and there was a resounding, YES."

Forget them, most all the professional athletes are terrible role models for children as well, they play up the "good" charitable things they do for the sake of their fake image needed by their ad agencies when in fact they are whitewashed tombs.

So I do my own research on companies that are anti-2a, and you bet I do my best not to support them. Does it mean that I never support them? Well, no. There are a great many things that I need to make my families "world go 'round" that are very difficult or impossible to source elsewhere. In the end it's about doing what we can.

Each of us must decide this for themselves. I cannot go through life never dealing with those who hold beliefs antithetical to mine, but I can try. But blithely ignoring these bully pulpits has gotten us pretty far down the road we are on. Not just gun rights but that is beyond the topic here.

My answer is imperfect, because even today it is not possible to know everything. But if and when I know a company's position it is because they put it out there for me to know. And if a company chooses to hold anti-gun rights positions then I choose not to deal with them. I don't worry too much about the lists but they are at least a starting point. The information is out there to discover on my own. Examples are as I mentioned: Dick's will never see a dime of my money. I will no longer shop at REI.

As for NFL -- wasn't there some kind of game yesterday? Not really sure. I was busy smoking ribs for a family dinner and doing a woodworking project with my daughter. My son came down from college, and my brother in law and fiance dropped by. We complained about ammo prices and I showed my son the new boot grip on my NAA mini. Ribs turned out really good, I'm happy to say.

Yes it's a rabbit hole. So I just do the best I can to support pro-gun or at least nonpartisan companies. To your broader point if I know a company is exploitive or is in some other way immoral, then yes; I look for other places to spend my dollars. It isn't that hard.

I think I may have misspoke or answered in a more tongue in cheek way then necessary. Yes, there are companies I don't support that are blatant. Especially in the realm of certain things that are very personal to me. And yes, that includes the 2nd Amendment. That being said, life is about moderation and trying to find every company that only supports what you do to support is impossible. I don't think it's reasonable for anyone to search a huge list and make a point to abandon every company like that. Some of those companies may do a lot of good in other areas that you support as well.
Ultimately, my apologies. My initial response was more flippant than it should have been. My biggest issue though is finding out companies who say they are supportive, but in the end, aren't. Those are truly the companies I chose to boycott. And there a lot of those as well.
