Looking at Silencer Shops average approval times - I still have another 6 months.
I bought them in May....
I've posted this before, but it bears repeating. ;)
The "NFA Tracker" @ Silencer Shop is a wholly and completely useless website and always has been. It was always data submitted by end users.
1. "Average Time To Stamp Received (Rolling 12 Months)"..........False, because that chart hasn't been updated in years.
2. "F4 Individual- EFile".......False, because eFile hasn't been available for Form 4's for over six years.
3. Same with "F4 LLC/Corp-Efile"

I'm getting stamps for Form 4's submitted in September 2020.......four and a half months ago.
Of the 85 Form 4's I've submitted January 1st- August 1st, 2020, I only have six still pending. (two from April, one May, three June)
That's as fast as NFA Branch has every processed Form 4's.
My Form 4's are averaging less than six months.

That would be nice. Hope they get released soon.

I think its a benefit of COVID19........I believe most if not all NFA Examiners are working from home. They only go into the office to drop off forms for mailing.
Most approval dates are a week or two before the postmark.

I started with a 22, 45 & 308 suppressors ... after a couple years I added a 9mm & 223 ... now they're all "old" (and discontinued) and thanks to technology whats available now is so much better but at 64, unless I win a big lottery or Publishers Clearing house, I don't see myself buy anymore NFA items ... I've been thinking about a 10/22 binary trigger, to keep my HK binary, AR binary's & Scorpion EVO binary coumpany; even tho the 10/22 binary is only $300, I'm not even sure about it in today's political climate ...

There are options for upgrading them. Whether or not the juice is worth the squeeze if for you to decide, but mount conversions and recores can bring old, heavy, poor performing cans into the modern era of suppressors. Recores can approach the price of a new entry or mid level can sometimes, but still preserves the stamp and saves the wait. I have recored many, many cans that probably would have just been replaced if it weren't for the stamp and wait.

Well, after reading thru the **** show first page of MGs are awesome, and suppressors are crap..my recommendation to the OP, is something bigger. I personally also started with a 22 Can, then also went with a 458 Bowers, that will suppress a 45/70, and down. I have the adapters to thread on an AR, if I want to, or he’ll even down the to a 22...they are quite versatile. iMHO

Thats interesting, maybe mine aren't all that old but compared to the new technology, they seem to be to me, I bought all 3 in '13 or '14. My 22 is a YHM Mite and I know they were offering a re-core for a while but everything I heard was that the upgrade was minimal. My 45 is an SWR Octane 45, and the 308 is a YHM Phantom Ti30 ... I see in your you are an SOT and machinist, is there a way to improve any of these?
You can message me and I can email you if you would like this off site ...

Well, the SWR Octane is a pretty good can, not much improvement to be made there.

The Phantom Ti isn't the boat anchor that its steel counterpart is. Not the quietest thing, but ok, and they have a good mounting system. It is possible to bore & thread those to Omega/Bravo pattern if you wanted something different, but the YHM QD really is solid. It can be recored to improve suppression, but they're one of the ones that gets quite spendy due to the way they're built. The recore is essentially a whole new tubeless can with the original tube turned into a thin sleeve and secured over it to remain compliant with the law (cannot replace tubes).

The Mite, on the other hand, can benefit greatly from a recore. They're not awful on rifles, but like most monocores, leave much to be desired on handgun hosts. A proper baffled core makes a night and day difference with those.

I have a Mite that I had recored, and it is much quieter on a Buckmark, as well as being easier to take apart and clean. It also improved the balance of the setup.

l also have a Huntertown 223 silencer that should be recored to lighten it up and maybe improve the sound suppression somewhat.

So, have you decided on what capabilities the new can will have @Spats McGee?
Or did we talk you into a Full Auto?:D

I hope your stamp collecting is going well.
My stamp collection is growing quite steadily!:)
No. Life jumped up and got in the way of deciding on this one. I do think I need another suppressor, though.

Shot my Gemtech Lunar9 yesterday - it's pretty amazing. Sounds like a nail gun going off in the distance. Not Hollywood quiet but I'd say maybe quieter than a 22 pistol.

I still need to swap flash hiders on 4 rifles so no pics of my DeadAir Nomad-L.

Have to wait on shooting this one till my bore rods come in to check alignment. Ordered those from McMaster Carr.

My local family owned hardware store has a small gun counter. The owner is younger guy (30's). He helped me swap flash hiders on this AR pistol and on my Savage Scout Rifle. I offered him some cash and he's like no way - I just love seeing wild stuff like this. Plus I want to shoot them. His son who is 11, works the register (smart kid), eyes really lit up when he saw these! The son is like "Oh wow a Glock with a suppressor!" Then "Oh wow an AR15 with a Suppressor!"

I have 2 more flash hiders I need to swap - Ruger Scout Rifle and another 16 inch AR15.

Open it up, pull the BCG, look down the bore. It's not hard to tell if they're misaligned.

I have never used a rod, and wouldn't trust one unless it were a snug fit to bore and verified straight on a granite table immediately before use.

I did the view through the bore. Looks good to my untrained eye. However, with a grand plus invested in the suppressor, Key-Mo, and multiple flash hiders, I'll wait and double check the work.

How have I missed all this hoopla? Fingerprint cards are requested from ATF for my first form 1 to SBR a contender. I will probably do a 22 can later this year. I guess I’m making sure I join the country club properly by getting multiple stamps. This might be the most ridiculous thread I have read in a while. I appreciate the chuckles folks.

How so?
