I have a Ciener Platinum 22 slide kit for 1911. It has work flawlessly, but now I'm getting some FT extract. I cannot figure out how to remove the barrel for cleaning.
Does anyone have disassembly instructions or tips for this slide?

I use an old pair of small vise-grips with smooth jaws to clamp onto the spring guide rod when it is extended out the front of the slide by pushing the barrel forward as far as it will go. Once the guide rod is trapped forward the barrel will come out from the rear. Wrap a rag around the guide rod so that the vise grips don't gouge the front of the soft alum. slide. Then stuff another rag behind the guide rod and unclamp it and catch it in the rag. Wear eye protection. Failure to extract is usually caused by a filthy extractor channel in the slide. Clean with solvent and blow with high pressure compressed air. The spring might be shot also. Does the failure to extract happen with any brand of ammo or just one?

Drail, that did work. I used a small milling vise to grab the guide rod. I has to be 100% extended for that barrel to barely slip out. Got her cleaned and back together. Thanks!
