Wanted one of these for a long time. I know they made another run awhile back and saw them on gunbroker and thought here’s my chance and decided my money would better be spent elsewhere. Never seen one in the wild. Well until yesterday, I snagged this one, apparently sat on the shelf too long. Haggled to $500 out the door brand new. I guess there are still some good deals to be had. Just happened to have a set of Chips Grips panels to replace the (still atrocious) factory panels and now it looks presentable:

That is a good deal even before the pandemic prices. Does the shop you purchased it from have anymore? I was pondering about buying one a few years back for an inexpensive centerfire plinker back when 9mm prices weren't retarded.

WOW!! I LOVE these grips!!
They are awesome!! I would love to get a set for my SP!!
Yeah I like them too. Check out Chigs Grips

He used to sell them on Thefiringline.com. Great product. I actually ordered a few sets the other night and looks like he updated them and has some killer panels up right now. Worth the money. Wish he’d had a couple of those two days ago I’d have those Set B Box Elder Burl panels

wankerjake, I think you'll like that little revolver. I've had a 3" SP101 9MM for some years now. It has been trouble free with any and all of the many types of 9MM ammo I've tried in it. I have a S&W 940 9MM too. If I had to let go of one, I'd keep the Ruger.

BTW, if you have a Chronograph, you might be surprised at how efficient 9MM ammunition is in that little revolver. More energetic by far in my guns than any major manufacturer 38 +P I've chronographed in 38/357 revolvers with similar barrel lengths....

Nice gun... a great price... and wearing some sweet shoes! A genuine success trifecta

I, too am a fan of Chigs Grips inserts for my GP and SRH.

That’s good to hear. Actually I’m excited to mess with it. Extrapolating with what I’ve done in my 10mm GP100, I should be able to seat the bullets longer and possibly allow for more powder if necessary. I’m interested to see what I can work up with 147gr HST’s (I have a lot of them), mostly likely in the +p arena. We’ll see, I still have to research that more. But I did turn up some old posts of Clark’s that looked interesting ;)

Neat catch. The only center fire handgun at the local Cabelas was a SW 9mm competition revolver with a long barrel for $1299. Too lazy to look up the model. Of course, there was no ammo for it.
