I bought a CW380 a couple years ago, because of the size and in spite of reports of break-in trouble. I ordered the "front night sight" model online and to my surprise I received a pistol sporting not only a front night sight but a rear as well. They were both Trijicons! Bonus!

Well, maybe not so much. The pistol prints groups consistently about 4" low at 7 yards. (I don't have this issue with other autoloaders, nor did I while doing research for the purchase by renting a bunch of pocket pistols at a local indoor range, including a P380).

So: does anyone have a CW380 or P380 with Trijicon sights? Please could you measure the height of the sights? Mine measure .172" in the front, and .127" in the rear. (They may be nominally .175" and .125" and my measurement accuracy is off a bit).

Please and thank you for advice and comments.

I can hardly believe nobody at THR is willing to take calipers' tail to their Kahr for you. But it really may be time to look at either better populated forums like Glock Talk or one of Kahr's forums.

This may sound like a dumb comment, and I'm OK with that.

I have both a CW9 and a CM9, when I shoot the smaller CM9 it consistently shoots lower (and this is not the pistol, I also have a PM9, an 2 other CW9's to compare it to.. the similar sized PM9 does the same thing...) When I take my time or shoot off a rest, the pistol prints to POA, but shooting offhand it always shoots lower... because of how it fits in my hand. I also have a 6-round magazine with the pinky hook... and as soon as I shoot with that, again, everything is fine.

Have you shot your pistol supported... to make sure it's the pistol, not you?

Valid point. No, I haven't shot it from a rest. I have shot it very slowly and deliberately, at short range. It always prints low for me. My only "defense" at this time is that the P380 I rented prior to this purchase didn't shoot low.

Just out of curiosity, Dennis, how tall are the front sights on your 9's? Are they taller than the rear sights?

I have looked through postings at the KahrTalk site, but haven't joined. Might have to do that.

Actually a member did measure his (standard) sights and found that his front sight is slightly shorter than the rear. I'm taking that as evidence that I have the wrong front sight (maybe it's for a 9 or a 40?)

A number of automatic pistols have taller rear sights. The CZ-75 family is a good example. In a pistol like 1911, the axis of the barrel is parallel to the rails and top of the slide when bullet is fired. As the barrel tilts, it becomes inclined relatively to rails. But in a CZ, the barrel is not parallel to the rails and the top of the slide when in battery. Instead, it becomes parallel after unlocking. The advantage is that the slide rubs the barrel in a less complicated way, so it's easier to make it durable. But then the rear sights are taller.

I don't recall a Browning action pistol where sights are the opposite, the front is taller. That is assuming the slide top is level, and not like P210. So, I suspect someone at Kahr factory grabbed a wrong part when assembling the gun.

Both the CW and CM have identical height fronts at .165”. Rears are both .175” off the top of the slide, .240” to the dovetail.

Another data point. Thanks.

I may just buy a set of standard sights and replace both. They are pretty inexpensive. And though tritium sights are cool, I'm wondering how useful they really are. If I can't see my sights, can I see my target?

Just be aware... don't get black sights... they completely disappear against a dim target. One of my Kimbers has Tritium sights, the other has black on black... and they are horrible. I'll be replacing the black set ASAP. The factory Kahr white post sights are OK, but I would prefer 3-dots, Tritium or not. My PM9 has 3-dot Tritiums... they are certainly an improvement. Just my personal preference.

Thanks for your comments, folks. I got a response from Kahr (sales), but only to inform me that they have switched to TruGlo, but the product wasn't yet (at that time, I haven't checked lately) posted to the website. They kindly let me know what the cost would be ($90 for a set, plus tax and shipping no doubt). No suggestions on other remedies for my tall front sight. Nothing from support. I will likely buy standard bar-dot sights, but might keep the trijicon rear sight and replace the front sight with a fiber optic one from Dawson Precision.

On second (third, fourth, ) thought ...

If I'm contemplating replacing the current sights, there's no loss in filing down the front sight to achieve correct point of impact. If it works, that is, I don't have to grind down into the tritium capsule, then done! I can probably deal with a dot triangle sight picture in low light, and have a properly aligned one in good light. What say you, me hearties?

All you can do is try... :)

The front sight is tapered forward, I would probably file or grind it straight so as not to get into the insert... although I don't know how far it is inset into the sight. Not much room... I must admit.

A wise guy, eh? Nyuk nyuk ....

No, but I have wondered if it was specially ordered and then returned/rejected, as the standard CW380 with front night sight just comes with, well, a front night sight.

Still haven't gotten around to taking a file to the sight. It will require removal of considerable material, I suspect getting very close to the tritium capsule.

I know this is a little bit older post, but did you ever figure out your problem?
I own one the only thing I really don't like is that the barrel does not lock tight. I bought it brand new and even then it rattles when there's Nothing in the chamber. Once ones in there you can still grab it and rattle it around with your fingertips peryour finger tips. This makes these things not as accurate as they could be. And it may be that this is your problem versus the sites just wondering if you tried different sites and had Any improvement?
Had mine for quite a few years now and it came also with front and rear Trijicon night sights.

If you pulled yours off and you still got him sitting in a door or something like that I would be interested in them. Finally got a second one and it just has standard sites. I absolutely hate the front plastic site they put on them. Literally just got it so I haven't even taken it out to see how accurate or inaccurate it may be compared to the one I have.

I know this is an older post, but my CW380 has same problem. Kahr had a deal where they would install the Trigicon sights including parts and labor, for a decent price. I sent mine off, and got it back and was delighted with the sights, until I shot it! Around 6” low at ten yards, shot several rounds thru it to make sure it wasn’t me, nope, 6” low. Contacted Kahr and never really got a satisfactory answer, so just lived with it. I really like the gun, it shoots hand loads and factory ammo just fine, never had to worry about 200 round break in, mine was pretty much reliable from start. But now I’m really unhappy with the problem, looked at their web site and it shows pic of gun with sights installed-I noticed the center notch on rear sight is about 1/8 inch above the top of the slide top, where mine is even with the slide top. I need the rear sight shown in the picture! Did you solve your problem? Not sure what to do
