If you could buy 1 firearm before a big ban...

Not exciting but it would probably be something like a Glock 20. Not because I need another high-capacity polystriker, but because given your last-minute-grab scenario, it’s what I’d probably most want an extra of, on the basis of utility alone.

Edit: Oops, this is the rifle forum. Throw in one of those funky RONI things...

Something like this....

Have wanted one since a kid, years ago.
Found you one. Not sure it's exactly what you want, but it's cheap enough you could get by til the one you want comes up. IMG_1081~2.jpg

Can't think of anything I'd want that would be likely to be on the chopping block if sweeping bans came about. I've never really had the the urge to own any semi-auto centerfire rifles. I suppose I could stand to own one before I'm told I can't. No clue what it would be, so I'd probably stick to what I'd like to have in general. A 28ga Ruger Red Label and lots of ammo.

Use to be when I was younger I would have been thinking about some sort of crew served weapon, like a M1919A4 or A6 Machine Gun or else something like a Lewis Gun. But as I have grown older and perhaps wiser I have started to take the weapon's weight into consideration. Nowadays I would consider a BAR to be the uppermost limit of how heavy I want a "rifle" to be. On the other hand a nice M1A1 Carbine would have a certain lightweight attraction to it as well. Something in between the two extremes, like an FAL perhaps or a Beretta BM59, would make for a decent all-around choice in a rifle for me.

Kriss Vector SBR with "lowers" in 9mm, 40 S&W, 10mm, 45 ACP and a custom 9x25 dillon. Not asking for much.

And lots of magazines for all of the lowers.

Speaking of rifles I would probably keep my Vz. 58. It is extremely light, mine also shortened, ammo is widely available here and spare parts are also everywhere dirt cheap :)

Would love to get a VZ58 sometime but what has always kept me from getting one is the proprietary magazine, not a concern for you living over there, and really not much of one here in the US. But I need another type of magazine to buy like I need a hole in my head.

God bless you Czech's you make fine firearms and I really appreciate your recent fights for solidifying your gun rights. Keep up the fight against the EU trying to pressure you to comply with their draconian laws.

Why plan for a ban? Plan for a ban fight! Send money to your favorite RKBA association in addition to trying to buy “that one gun”.

Also, I didn’t see any mention of spare parts. You can’t fix a gun without parts. Here in Kaleepornia they want to ban “precursor AR parts” whatever the hell “precursor” means. It makes leftists happy to have a new word so they sound intelligent to other mental midgets.

How about magazines? Might want to get those too.

Quite alright! Pistols are on the list and you won't see me complaining in my thread. :D Excellent choice by the way.

Bro that is the sickest looking VZ 58 I've ever seen. I love that thing. I've heard great things about them, and I actually passed up on buying on right here on THR (which I regret immensely!).

Good call on the parts / magazines. The only thing I'd throw in about the second amendment ban fight is it seems like there's a lot of disagreement as to where that money should be going. I don't want to turn this into a political argument, but I just found out (on THR actually) a few months ago about the NRA's debacles with mismanagement of funds. I would have loved to join the NRA but every time I get close something like this happens.

I’m probably just gonna build one last AR-15 upper and call it good for now. Spent the last four years buying everything I could afford on my bucket list.

Wise man.

If you're talking about a potential excuse to check off the "want" list, the only thing I want that could potentially be in jeopardy.... M1A National Match.

An AR15. They can be fun, but they can also be pretty pretty boring. AR15's, They are all essentially the same gun. If you've seen a few you've seen them all. There are guns out there I may very well like better and have more fun shooting but the AR15 in my opinion is the most versatile and capable rifle. Not to take away from the fact that a man armed with a single shot or lever gun can also be quite capable, but the AR can do just about anything you could ever need it for and is much lighter and easily maintained over many many others......

So yeah. The AR15.

If cost is no object? M1 Carbine and a lot of ammo.

An ultralight AR15, Israeli FAL, Browning 1892 in 357, high gloss Weatherby Mark V in 257 Wby Mag, and Nighthawk 9mm 1911 would all be on the list as well. Might also get a 20 gauge O/U shotgun custom-fitted for myself too.

Actually, there are a couple things I want. I want a couple nice .50 bullet moulds, 30-50lbs of holy black FFG, and I would like to have about 5k #11 caps. I really want to spend some serious time with my front stuffers this year. But I should have enough to get me by. On other ammo and components, I’m plenty prepared.

And I would like to have an M1 Carbine. That’s one of the only one’s I’m lacking for issued (and some non-issued) US military rifles going back to the civil war (class 3 excluded). And dammit, I want a single shot 410. Always have.

Our, and neighboring sheriffs, have all said any ban can go to hell and so can the man who signs it. They are very popular sheriffs. The police chiefs are pretty much in lockstep with the sheriffs. But they don’t carry the weight a sheriff does. And you won’t find a single officer or deputy in the neighboring 4 counties, maybe even the state, willing to knock on a door to confiscate a weapon because someone in Washington said to. I really love where I live.
