If this has been covered I apologize. Did a search with no real results. Lately I have been coming across more Frontier 223 and Hornady 223 brass. Does anyone have any experience/opinions on these. I primarily use LC and FC for my accuracy loads. All input greatly appreciated.

Frontier 233 ammo is currently manufactured by LC using Hornady bullets. I have been treating frontier 223/556 brass as the same as LC brass. The few that I weighed appears to be very close between the 2

I have a couple hundred once fired that my doc gave me. I haven’t done any accuracy testing, but doing all the prep to it it seemed quite consistent

Hornady brass is very good. Never found enough Frontier though to try it or compare it.
My experience has not been good with Hornady 223 brass. Now to be fair, that's range pickup brass, but I found it to have a wider variation of weight than any other brand I have bothered to measure, and by a wide margin. Also, they crimp their primer pockets. Jerks. I leave it on the ground now. Of course, I leave everything with a crimped pocket on the ground these days. Life is too short to deal with those

For the last 7 months there is less and less brass being left. More than once I was hustling 2 guys over some range brass. I don't argue with anyone over the brass because the truth is that I have plenty. Seems like most of the shooters at the range were reloaders and protecting their stuff. So I take all the rifle brass I can "steal." I never keep the crimped pistol brass. Although I almost never find crimped pistol brass. If they had had crimps someone before me had taken them out.

I've found that it loads and shoots ok. Nothing spectacular either good or bad. All that I have found had crimped primers.

It has been my experience that primer pockets enlarge after just a few moderate loads. I've experienced this with Frontier brass in both .223 and .308. I now only load Frontier brass once or twice before tossing it into the scrap brass bucket.

The only Frontier brass I have obtained in any amount is 30-30. The couple hundred I have reloaded twice so far has been as good as any other and the necks seem thicker than the old RP.
