When you’re able to find it, how much is 22 lr going for these days? Seems like around where I’m at theyre bumping it up to 20-25 cents a round. I was pretty surprised, I hadn’t been paying attention to prices lately.

Local dealer had CCI standard velocity on the counter at $3.75 for 50 last weekend. I saw a dozen boxes or so, but there may have been more out of sight. I purchased a couple boxes and took that as a sign that the worst is past if the flippers don't manage to prop up the market.

GrabAGun must be planning for when they can't sell online if Biden gets his way. They image.png want 16 for 50 yet I just yesterday bought 250 round boxes of aguila copper coated hollow points locally for the exact same price.

Local store with a small range has 525rd boxes of Golden Bullets for $130. Yea I'll pass. Only one small store in my area doesn't have over inflated pricing. I bought a 1400rd Bucket O Bullets for $80. Im well stocked but always looking to replenish what I shoot. I was nice enough to give a few small boxes to cowokers that just bought .22 guns.

Last 22lr I bought was $23 a brick. I will not pay anymore than that. If we would just stop paying these ridiculous prices ammo would be more than enough to go around. I hate to say it, But it's not the sellers. It's the DA buyers that are driving prices up. Stand up for Your Rights AND act like you got a little sense. That's what it's gonna take. Nothing more, Nothing less.

Last box I bought was 100 round count CCI for $10. Before that, I was able to get it from Bi-Mart for $8.00 per box of 100 count.

Right now...hmm....sparse at best, none at worse.

Not sure you understand the basic principles of supply and demand in a free market economy.

You can bet all those online stores are - literally - sweating bullets and planning for their next business enterprise as they are about to be legislated out of business.

I understand that the supply is there. I understand that the factories are putting out more than ever. I understand everything "Except Why" you and yours are "Willing" to pay such rediculous prices when all you have to do is say "No".
I understand biden. I understand why he and his kind want to deprive you and me and everyone else the rights given to us in the Constitution. I understand all of that . I just " Don't Understand Why" you and I and everyone else are so " Willing" to sit back and do "Nothing" but cry and whine to each other and let it happen. Yes, I understand. I just don't understand "Why".

There is a whole bunch of us NOT crying and whining about ammo prices but since we are not, your are not see/hearing/reading about it and we don't stand out.

The reason comes down to simple economics. There are consumers out there that have a want or need that is high enough that the prices demanded by the suppliers is acceptable to them and they pay it to get what they want/need. The need level is different for each person and so is what they see as an acceptable price. Supply and demand.

During the 2012 crisis I acquired over 5000 rounds of.22 LR and never paid over 5 cents per. I don’t remember every transaction, some were trades but most were out and out purchases from dealers. You gotta keep looking and be lucky.

The one gun shop/range I go to usually has Aquila or Federal, $6/50, 1 per customer and only if you're there for a range session. Another gun shop usually has Federal, $35/325, 1 per customer. Another gun shop/range hasn't had it in a while.
Rummaging through my closet, found a brick of Remington-$9.99.

I shoot at a local gunstore’s indoor range a couple of times a week. They usually have .22LR for sale, usually the more premium target stuff like Lapua and Eley. I buy a box each time go in, don’t care about the price. I want them to stay in business.

I had a few of them 9.99 bricks left after the last shortage. Back when they came in a milk carton style. I have some CCI 22 MAG in little milk cartons. I think their 125 count. Maybe 150? Been awhile since i got them.

I haven't seen any .22 LR in any local store for months.

CCI had Quiets for sale for $5/box online recently with a 10 box limit. I was low on Super Colibris so I ordered a brick.

The supply ISN’T there. Factories are putting out more than ever but demand has quadrupled and everyone who didn’t stock up when it WAS cheap and available a year ago has now shot up their last .22LR (or is a new shooter who bought a new gun and has nothing to feed it) and will pay whatever price they have to to get more. I haven’t bought any .22 in 6 months, and I paid “normal” prices for the three bricks I got then, but I also haven’t seen any on local shelves since then. And I check frequently. There is ZERO .22 locally and hasn’t been for many weeks. There is zero ammunition of any popular caliber. If you get lucky and don’t have a job and can be there early when the truck comes in you might get your pittance/allotment. 28 gauge shotgun and a box of .38 Super was all that was available last time I checked.

I've been giving a lot away to new shooters who could only afford the pistol at the recent prices. Some to practice with and some of the good stuff for social distancing.

More than 5000 rounds given to "seasoned" gentlemen who just want to teach the grandkids how to shoot and how fun the shooting sports are.

Just a few boxes at a time, I've given away over 12K rounds of .22 over the last several months. Not 1 round sold.

I still have several bricks, more than enough for my needs. I don't shoot a lot of .22, not a "hoarder" just been picking it up when i saw it on sale.

Stocked up a lot for shooting with my daughter. Don't need it anymore. Glad some people got some good out of it.
