I've sold a bunch haven't had one come back yet. Check out the new 22 magnum semi-auto its pretty nice was out with one the other day and put a few hundred rounds downrange with no issues.

Reviewers seem to like them. Nothing fancy, but at $110 or so from PSA they have open sights and are light and handy. The metal may be the same as the Mossberg plinkster, and both bear a more-than-passing resemblance to the Marlin 795 (box mag version of model 60). I have no personal experience but if I was in the market or needed a loaner I would give it a close look.

The Magnum should be great fun & a handy HD, truck gun, etc. but I read that extra magazines are almost impossible to find & that Mossberg magazines fit the 22 long rifle model. I have lousy luck with magazines so that has kept me from getting too exited about the 22 Magnum.
Thanks for the replies.

RS-22 appears to me similar to my Mag Tech CBC* 7022 bought at a Walmart closeout sale in 1999 for $65 (plus 3 extra mags at 9.95 ea).
There is a lot of similarity between the 7022, Mossberg 702, and Rossi RS-22.
The 7022 is notable for having a wooden stock of tropical Brazilian mystery wood with a "baseball bat" forearm like my old Winchester 69A.
The newer 702 and RS-22 iterations have more modern synthetic stocks.
The web is full of instructions on adopting Marlin stocks to fit the 702.
Magazines for the 702 require modification to fit the 7022. Numrich gun parts lists the magazines with different part numbers.
For the price point they all appear to be good utility grade .22 semi-auto rifles.

I probably should clarify that I bought the 25rd mags for 702 and they work fine in the RS22 I bought my son in law for Christmas. I haven't tried the stock 702 10 rd mags. I can't see any reason they wouldn't, I just haven't tried them.

Gonna buy one at $260 + shipping , the Magnum version with an OD green stock. The Magnum 10 round magazine looks pretty fool proof and well designed ! The gun is going to MachIV to be cut and threaded to 16.5 " right from the vendor , this saves me one way of shipping . The only thing is with .22 Magnum it won't be "silenced" only "Suppressed" , but that sounds ok .

I picked up a new Rossi Gallery pump late last year, only been to the range a few times but the accuracy is as good as my Henry, no misfeeds, mechanically no complaints.
The receiver finish is painted on and I could have done as good a job in my driveway, and the receiver screws are Phillips so they’ll probably get chewed up after a few removals.
But for the money, no complaints. I skipped the wood furniture for black poly to get the fiber optic sights and they are great. I wanted something besides another bolt action for .22 shorts & subsonic rounds.
I like it enough that I’ll pick up the Rossi bolt action .22wmr later on.

The RS22 and the Mossberg 702 Plinkster are the same gun with different markings and stock. Mags will interchange with RB22. I have/had both RS22 and RB22. Both do just fine. The stock on the Rossi is better than the Mossberg IMO. Much like my Marlin 60 the RS22 liked to be lubed and shot regularly. If I let it sit too long and the oil got just a little gummy it would sieze up and not feed properly. It was used as a 'truck gun' and didn't get much attention which led to issues. I switched it with the RB22 because I can ignore it all summer and still get it to go bang and feed properly when Mr. Dangernoodle shows up due to the manual action.
