Has the SCOTUS ever heard a case dealing with magazine capacity? I thought they have refused to hear any of them

I don't believe SCOTUS has ever taken a magazine limit case.

I think so-called "Assault Weapons" and so-called "Hi-Capacity Magazines" will be one case since a lot of bans are contain both and there are a few working their way toward SCOTUS.

VT - The law also sets limits for magazine sizes at 15 rounds for handguns and 10 rounds for long guns. Thus, the gun is legal in VT.

Yeah, that was another wonderful twist. I remember thinking that they made a whole slough of full size duty handguns impractical for people, with 17 rd magazines being pretty standard for a 9mm handgun you basically had two choices for magazines, the standard 17rd or down to 10rds, so not really restricting you by only two rds, more like 7.

As it turns out, glock apparently started making a 15rd magazine for the G17 to address this burden on gun owners in restricted states, God bless em. But there are plenty of manufacturers who either make a standard capacity mag that exceeds 15rds or a 10rd "compliance" mag. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some guns that don't even have a compliance magazine.

I have seen a gun, like the FN 5.7 or PMR30 for sale at my LGS that were being sold with "sorry, no mag"..

But, so far anybody who owned them before Oct.2018 is in the clear, for now. My hope is that this either gets straightened out in court in our favor, or at the very least the grabbers feel they have won their big victory and will leave all the rest of it well enough alone. That's probably wishful thinking.

I am pretty sure those that want to pass restrictions on gun owners would rather we be completely disarmed. They just know to go slow so as not to get people too mad, incrementalism is their mantra. They haven't left anything alone after previous victories, so don't expect anything different now.

Well I was hoping for better, but the 9th Circuit COA, only gets it right once in a blue moon. The vast majority of their rulings, on the Second Amendment, or anything that upholds conservatives , has been a dog and pony show.

I guess one must be a Stanford law school grad to understand the nuances of this travesty.
