A buddy atlas, has sold off his revolvers and I offered to help him sell off his brass.
Can THR members tell me what brass is going for, without gouging anyone.
There is .38 and .357.
Range brass in both
Nickel in both
and some virgin .357 cases, not sure if it is nickel or brass. Not positive, but it may be Winchester

I looked up some of my online purchases from 2018/19 and, in this climate, if you want to be pre-plandemic "fair," I would suggest $75/1000 + actual shipping, USPS flat-rate, for clean, first-firing, ready for resize/decap, mixed HS brass in anything close to 50:50/.38:.357 ratio, in nickel. That's about the best guesstimate I can provide given the limitations on commercial posts in topic threads and how much I paid prior to the Plandemic Panic of 2020.

I'd say .08 to .10 cents per shell for .38 special good condition range brass with nickel sounds reasonable. I feel the .357 is more valuable cause they are found a lot less around the range. The price for them I would say reasonably about .12 to .14 cents per piece for them.

IIRC I paid $17 ~ $18 for new Starline brass (100 ct bags) in 2019, so about .17 ~ .18 cents per piece for both 38spcl and 357mag. None of my brass was nickel plated.

I would suggest checking the "buy, sell, trade" section here and maybe other forums and see what they are currently going for. You could also check new brass prices and adjust accordingly.

At this time fired .357 is one of the highest priced. Some of the online fired brass dealer are charging $35.00 a 100.Most don't have any.Gunbroker prices are nuts but its selling for that.It not 2018 at $75 a thousand someone will buy it all and make money.Price gouging too high whatever but people are paying it.

I paid $.10 for once fired 38 special cases a couple months ago. You might be able to find them online, but i did my deals locally (VA).

After the long song and dance, my buddy only had 250 range pick ups. That is fine for what I need but some other shooter friends will be disappointed.

I traded 10mm for .357 mag 1:1, each side paid shipping
Good for me as I don’t shoot 10mm
Off hand I would say 38 spc at 8
cent and 357 mag at 16 cent once fired.

For wet and dry tumbled decapped and sized indoor range once fired matching HS .357 I would go as high as.20/pc and still pay shipping happily. At that point you’re basically buying factory cases. There are some regular sellers on GB who teach at ranges and have delivered that kind of brass regularly. I have seen their starting bids remain in the 7-1/2 cent range get bid up to 30 or higher lately. When that trend reverses is the time to start thinking about buying again.

Locally here before the "plandemic" as one called it, 38spl was $3.10 per 100 but now it is $7.50 because of the demand for it. 357 mag only jumped up to $9 from $8.
