What was buried?

Elbow grease and Flitz. It’s a shame they weren’t protected when they were buried. My bet is that it was a stash that was intended to be forgotten or was done in such a hurry as to not provide even basic protection. Clearly they were meant to either be recovered quickly, or never thought of again. Perhaps somebody got “pinched” before they got back to them.

The first thought that pops into my head when I want to plant a tree is just how close to the foundation I can plant it... :)

More indication that the ninnies that found the arsenal might not be Arizonans.

We all know that generally speaking, radiant heat off block*fences* kills young plants.

Looks more to me like someone was going to bury a dog.

Todd.

I routinely fine corroded, unfired ammo in an area ofnmy property after hard rains. Someone obviously lost several boxes of ammo or an ammo cache decades ago.
I schedule several therapy sessions each time it happens to facilitate my return to sanity.
Go to your *safe space*... I mean, as long as it does not involve digging.;)

namaste.... ohmmmmmmm......

Todd.

Thinking what would I do in this scenario?

If turned over to the police it might insulate you from charges should they turn out to be stolen or full auto. If the investigation shows there is no violations involved you should be entitled to ownership since it's found on your property. Similar to abandoned storage facilities where contents go to the owner. Random thoughts....

Remember someone advertising large PVC cylinders so you could bury items like that without the corrosion.

Right now the back of some goober’s head hurts because of the slap he got from Gomer after he blurted out “See, I told ya I buried ‘em!” at Jerry’s Corner Bar and Insect Emporium. :D

I don't see a pin hole forward of the rear take down on the AR so most likely semi SBR. The AR receiver pieces would be stripped and rebuilt with new parts if possible but leave the ugly finish.

Bill

Willing to bet that all of them are FA in one way or another. And at least the one is an unpapered SBR.
Probably so or at least have been modified in the past. Figure once you've queered yourself Federally with an untaxed SBR.... In for a penny, in for a pound.

Me? I'd want to see the lease records on the house. I know the Cops do.

Todd.

Be a good trick to throw the scent somewhere else and dispose of your poor condition equipment. If you have any more to hide, and they're found, "oh, they must have been part of that batch I uncovered, I was just getting ready to call you to come pick them up...".

About the best you can hope to face, someone who likely cant shoot anyway, who now has a FA gun. Especially a jury-rigged gun.

Previous owners watched too many reruns of Red Dawn and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome?

Or was the burial to keep a wife - or a True Probation Officer - from knowing about Evil Black Rifles and heaters?

Must have forgotten where day was.

Seems some homeowners in Arizona were digging a hole to plant a tree and dug up a duffel bag of someones buried guns. Appears to be an AK and AR, not sure about the handguns.

I wonder if the guns were stolen and buried to keep them from being found by cops, etc. The guy who buried them may have died, forgotten about them or moved away without digging them up.
