Another stock job.

Well......I’m going to try my hand at patching the chipped out part. It’s a small area and I have a plan for the repair. I bought some wood so I’ll tackle it as long as my wife doesn’t have other plans for me.

Needs a touch more red, but not too shabby!

I match probably 200-250 stains per year. Its not the easiest thing to do. Many people don't have the eye for it, or the patience.
 
After doing some other chores I have been putting off, I’ve gotten back on the stock job. Cold weather and damp conditions have also hampered the project. First coat of BLO has been applied. Patched area is a little darker than I had hoped for but, it’s not too bad.

Wish I’d seen this sooner. I’m swimming in walnut, I just can’t throw away any scraps from my furniture projects. I would have been happy to send you some cut offs.

Thanks for the offer! I’ll keep that in mind in case I have a need some small scraps.
