Long time lurker, first post.

My cousin in Ireland would like to purchase five choke tubes for his legally owned shotguns. They are much cheaper when purchased in the USA, and I am happy to buy them here and ship them to him. My question is, is it legal to ship them to Ireland? We both want to make sure it is legal, both to ship from the USA and to receive in Ireland, before proceeding.

Anyone here familiar with the laws and regulations on such a transaction? I have been searching the Internet but it is as clear as mud to me.

According to this Commerce Control List (CCL) country chart, Ireland is not a signatory to the OAS firearms restrictions, which means that commercial firearm parts (not military / dual use items under ITAR control) can be shipped from the US to Ireland without needing an export license from the US Department of Commerce (under Export Administration Regulations (EAR) 15 C.F.R. 730-774).

I have no clue as to how Ireland, on the other hand, would view things. Given BREXIT, I would imagine the Northern Ireland will have different views on things than will the Republic of Ireland.

Thanks! I should have clarified that my cousin lives in the Republic of Ireland, not Northern Ireland.

Thanks all for your input. I have decided not to proceed with this sticky wicket. Neither I nor my cousin desire to break or bend any regulations, and the subject is just too complex for us to fully understand and to take any risk.
