I recently got rid of my PP .380 for a small profit, it fed european FMJ well (only), but was sharp recoil . Now my 1960s .32acp and .22 German made PP are great kit guns ! The 7.62 is very accurate to 50 yards on jack rabbits and decisive on their demise. The .22 is equally as accurate, with a favored load , but nowhere near as decisive put down of said Jack rabbits ! :) Great kit guns ! I like the PP much better than the PPK . BTW I took a .380 PPK to Vietnam in 1968 with 100 rounds of ammo :) it always "bit me" when I shot it with the Geco ammo it fed well with. .

Always on the look-out for a .22. Owners always speak so highly of them.

Are they actual jackrabbits or are they hares as occur in Europe? I'm asking because a common Russian grey hare can kill a hunting dog with a strike of its hind legs. American jackrabbits are at most 2 kg in weight and I dispatch them easily (although not decisively) with my Daisy air rifle. A .22 LR should be knocking them over like a brick, even out from a short barrel.

The old Walther PP and PPK models, I believe were not designed to accept the hollow point ammunition, the ramp design is not for hollow point but accepts the normal ammunition with perfection. This is absolutely normal!

Thank you, comrades

I have one of the newer Fort Smith PPK/s 22lr and must admit that so far it has liked any ammo I've tried with it including bulk pack Federal & Remington. I've only had a few failure to fires and most of those turned out to be true duds. No feeding or ejection issues so far at all. Types of ammo tried have been several different CCI, several Aquila and both bulk pack and individual pack Federal & Remington.

zaitcev,

Only Euro Hare I shot was a German Hasen. I shot it with an M193 FMJ from an M16a1 using a AN/PVS 2 Starlight scope.

Hit at eye level and it did a back flip and just laid there. Not the best rabbit I ever ate, but was hungry at the time along with several others.

Long story.....

But to get back on topic. My first experience with a centerfire semi auto was a German Walther PP in .32 that belonged to a neighbor. I liked it and he would not sell it....perhaps because I out shot him with it.

Shot one in Germany. Liked it. Big gun for the caliber, but made it easy to shoot.

The original PP or PPK were ahead of their time. Today's designs reduce them to collectors items. Pre war German and post war French were for the most part well made and reliable in 32 with ball ammo. Stainless and later made ones are obsolete paperweights.

I love my 7.65 PP. It’s a pleasure to shoot. Just one of those instances of functional, ergonomic, and chambering, serendipity. I’ve never had occasion to use it (or anything else) defensively, but I’d bet it would punch above it’s weight just because it’s such a natural handler.

I have shot several brands of hollow points and expanding ammo in my .32ACP pistols and have not had any rimlock issues. My WALTHER PPK works fine with them, so does my BERETTA model 82 Cheetah and 3032 Tomcat.

I have owned quite a few Walthers.
Several .380’s are long gone.

All I have are .32. (Except one .22 PPK/s).

I always shoot ball. They are very reliable.

these are my PPK’s. A rather rare stainless. A West German Police and, a Nazi Police.

They are, for me, exceptionally accurate with the fixed barrel.

Just playing the other day, this was at 25 yards. First shot DA. Standing.

Really wish I could take credit for the one that hit the bolt head. It was just an accident...

I have a Walther PP .32 acp which belonged to a gentleman for long years, because of his age he made the transfer to me legally on a written paper. It is in excellent condition. I take care of maintenance and cleaning. It is famous all over the world. There are no flaws, and its accuracy is very good. I think about taking care of the piece for long years.

Glad to see that some in Brazil do own handguns !
My son’s wife is from Uberaba. We have visited her family and had a very pleasant time, good people and good food!

That would be one unlucky rabbit were I to hit it at 50 yards with my PP. Between the eagles, hawks, and snakes around here they hardly get big enough to see from that far away.

There are many families of Germans living in southern Brazil. They are extremely polite and very intelligent. They helped a lot in the development of Brazil in various sectors. We Brazilians, we like them very much. They will always be welcome and we always want them here. Blumenal City Santa Catarina
