Recommendation for a guy who hates most automatic pistols?

So I'm coming here for advice. To clarify my needs/wants:

1. Manual safety, with decocker if possible.
2. Barrel/slide sit high so I can't get slide bite
3. Compact enough for carry
4. Isn't a 1911 or Glock
5. No grip safety

I have shorter fingers with med palms. Trigger reach is usually my issue more so than grip circumstance but circumference does play a part. DA triggers are always too much of a stretch.

Based on my experience, the M&P compacts and Shields fit the above with thumb safety but no decocker.

For me, the BHP is a good full size steel choice and I find it to be a lot better for my hand size than 1911s.

Also, the M&P full size have the same grip size as the double stack compacts.

Stick with revolvers. Why try to force what you don't like?? That is like marrying because you want to please someone else....:p

Given the lack of ammo availability, there's a good case to be made for having different handguns in multiple calibers to include one or more autoloaders. Having said that, the revolver is a superb "get off me" gun and is the ideal solution for a purely defensive handgun where it's highly unlikely that you're going to need 10 or more rounds plus the ability for fast reloads...that's the domain of an assault force, seems to me, not the defensive carry situation where the objective is to just break contact.

To the OP: You have in the title "most " autos.

So pick the one you don't dislike.

S&W model 3914. Double action, like your revolvers, I assume, so no need for a manual safety. Slim grip for smaller hands, compact for better concealment, and more fire power.

I have small hands and have to hold pistols high, and glocks are just too low on the barrel.

Hmm, the CZ is probably closer to what I'm looking for. Thanks for the replies thus far.

I have small hands, which is why I sold a Beretta 92FS to get a CZ75D PCR. Here are some pics I made a while back showing double action trigger reach at "half" cock and hammer fully down.

This is showing how the de-cocker can be actuated by the thumb knuckle or thumb tip.
