This Hellcat is stinging my trigger finger

I've experienced this before with my Marlin 1894CSS in 357 Magnum when shooting high pressure rounds. I believe it is a problem with the design. Under high recoil impulse the trigger slaps my finger causing pain over time. I've never shot the Hellcat, but believe it is a design issue.

I have large hands and carry a Walther PPS in 9mm. The gun is very slim but shoots like a much bigger gun. I'd recommend you try it. I don't have this problem with the Walther and it is very easy to carry, even in 100 degree heat.

The Hellcat with the larger 13 round magazine fills the hand better than the shorter magazine. The trigger "Sting" is there on the bottom of my trigger finger. I notice it on my full size G17, but strangely not on my G21. It's their on my LCPII also. I don't find it annoying enough not to like the Hellcat. I think it's the best of the mini 9's, but of course I'm prejudiced. For daily carry I refer to my Avatar.

"Actually, they have completely different triggers. Both are similar in the sense of pull weight, but the P365 has a solid and smooth metal trigger while the Hellcat has a much different style with an integrated safety and very sharply curved tip.."
^^^ this... I find their triggers dramatically different. I found a similar issue with the M&P Shield 9mm when they first came out. Because of it's smaller profile grip it moved much more in my hand, which caused discomfort and decreased accuracy until I realized that I needed to concentrate on a "firm, thumbs forward" grip, (it was constantly pulling shots left) until I trained it into the pistol practice.
I didn't have this issue with the later generation Shield 9mm or the Shield .45 (both have thicker grips). This made for less movement in my hand and accuracy and finger pain disappeared. The Hellcat doesn't do this to me however the P365 dose move /squirm a lot and I have to concentrate when shooting it, but the Hellcat has a slightly thicker grip and I don't experience it.

My brother bought one of these and at the range every one had trigger slap. My finger became numb shooting it.

My first time shooting a small frame pistol. Springfield Hellcat 9mm. Difficult to hold firmly because it is so small. Maybe that is my problem, not sure. I hold more firmly with my left hand to control the jump. Has anyone else shot a Hellcat or maybe the Sig365 , they have similar triggers.
I feel the trigger vibrate so much that it stings my trigger finger. Is it me, or the gun ?

I know what you mean. I had that with a couple of 9's, both of which were single stack, fairly thin grip. Never fig out why so sold them. Had a Kahr CW9 and never had that issue, also recently acquired 365XL works for me. It has a wider grip and I'm thinking this has something to do with it. If you are in my neck of the woods, you can give it a try. I think most/all 365s now have straight triggers.

My Glock 17L had a trigger safety that protruded slightly even when fully engaged and it drove me crazy.
I installed an Apex trigger and it has been lights out perfect ever since.
Apex makes a Hellcat trigger replacement kit, I would try that to reduce the uncomfortable trigger feel and bring the pull weight to right about 5.0 lbs.

Several reviews, all really liked the kit.

Just an idea...good luck finding a solution! :)

Stay safe.

Oh, if the Hellcat just doesn’t work for you I bought a Glock 43X recently. Basically a hybrid of the 43 barrel and slide and the 10-round 48 frame. grip and magazine.

This gun fits my hands perfectly and the trigger pull was improved with a Ghost lightened striker spring and Ghost lightened safety plunger spring. This change took me about five minutes to complete and cost me about six bucks. It improved the trigger pull beautifully .

Stay safe.
