I bought this 75 Anniversary Savage 1895 that was in excellent non fired condition, everything was beautiful about the gun except the gold color inlay on the receiver engraving was 80% gone...

I didn't know what to do, thought about melting down some of the wife's old gold jewelry... that didn't go over well when I asked her where it was :what: anyways...found this stuff on one of the gun sites so I ordered it...less than 30 bucks...

That looks great. I have used the stuff myself. In my experience it may need to be renewed every ten years or so, depending on how much fondling, er, handling you do.

Yea...obviously someone had been fondling this one alot...still can't believe how well it came out... with me doing it...makes me feel like a bonafide gunsmith :what:

I used something similar 40 years ago. It was less than durable, but looked nice for a while, and super easy to reapply. Let us know how it holds up.
