Armslist Disfunction

I would like to know if anyone can explain the situation I am experiencing with Armslist , or if anyone has had similar experience.
I am not trying to initiate another Armslist pro/con/bashing thread.

Situation:
About 2 weeks ago I decided to pony up the monthly fee to enable my existing account to list items for sale. I planned to post listings right away , but when I attempted to do so I got a screen that told me that my account upgrade was being processed as quickly as possible. Ok , I thought , the site is recognizing my existing account , also recognizing my upgrade in progress , so maybe it will be a few hours.
Since then I have checked every few days - I still get the screen that says my upgrade is being processed. The red banner at the top of the screen states the boilerplate about high volume and suggests that if an email goes 3 days without response you should resend. I have sent an email of inquiry every 3-4 days for 2 1/2 weeks with no response.

I am in limbo. If the site simply said NO for some reason , that would be that , but instead it says I am being processed... in perpetuity. I clearly cannot get an email response.

Anyone able to shed any light on this ridiculous situation?
Has anyone had a similar experience , or am I special?

I have nothing to offer but to be certain that when/if you are recognized as renewing, that they are not counting the weeks of being unable to access the advanced privileges.

So far I'm 1 for 127 (views). Maybe I should submit my inquiry to one of those paranormal shows on cable ... something to do with my magnetic aura perhaps.
 
if sellers would put their phone numbers in the message like one 8 hundred five five 5-one 2 one two, there would be more deals going down. right now I cannot tell a seller i want their gun because i have to pay to send them a message stating so.

Nowadays that’s the only way I can contact a seller and I appreciate them doing it....
 
That might be worth a try.
Better then sending email after email...
Doing the same thing over and over , each time expecting a new result.
 
He'll be turned on right when it's time for the monthly renewal to be charged. Can you say cha-ching!

I'm in the same boat. When they went to the fee platform I sent in my info because I had stuff I wanted to sell. I have been pending ever since. I keep an eye on my bank account and no fee has been charged to it yet.
At one time the banner at the top of the page said they weren't taking new members. They dropped that part recently, but still nothing has changed for me. I still look at ads, I ignore the ones with no contact info.
It's a shame, I've been doing deals through them for about 8 or 9 years, no more though.
 
I don't know if this is related, but Armslist is a specific target for the Brady gun-grabbing cabal. Brady loses lawsuit after lawsuit, and they just keep coming back. Their goal is to drive Armlist out of business.

Brady's lawsuit is thrown out because it has no merit - June 2020.

For Brady, these lawsuits are not an expense. They are an effective way to get more donations. And they spend these donations on lawsuits against Armslist. The goal is not to win in court. The goal is to bleed Armslist with these repeated court cases.

Maybe we should cut Armslist some slack.
 
If their hit traffic goes to zero..it will change, keep going there hoping for a "one eight six six 4 four..." solution will not bring it back.
 
I have had the same situation happen twice with Armslist. It took them forever to get back to me but somehow my email ended up in their spam filter
They fixed it but it happened again after this months renewal
What I did was take a deactivated item, change all of the information for my new item and reactivate it
I also put a phone number in my ads.

I understand that Armslist is under assault and duress , but the processing of an account upgrade is essentially the function of a computer program , isn't it?
For the site to recognize the initiation of such a transaction immediately but then fail to process it for 3 weeks makes no sense.

The term I used in the thread title was "dysfunction" ; that's exactly what it is. Armslist is under pressure from outside entities. I would hate to see the final death stroke result from internal failure.
 
Waveski, I broke down and paid the fee the other day. Zero issues. Have already sold several items.
 
I found a workaround. If you have a previous deactivated listing (but not too old) And you log into your account via mobile (I use Chrome) you can see your old listings, edit them, and reactivate.

I've been doing this for 2 months now and have not been charged. Not sure if this will work for everyone but it works for me

I wasn't too happy about the armslist charges, but needed to sell a couple of firearms to finance yet another purchase. I also received the message about my request for an account upgrade needed to be processed, but it took about 3 minutes.

I can't load pictures to Armslist anymore! I recycle my old listing, only one still valid but good enough for me. Can't load pictures to Armslist anymore since about maybe 3 weeks ago. Anybody have this problem?
 
As the OP , I offer this update:
It has been about a month and a half since I (tried to) update my account.
I still get the screen saying that the upgrade is being processed , and there has been no response to my emails.

Why this would occur for one account but not others is beyond me.
