Looks like the bolt for a Colt "Colteer" Model 1 bolt action .22. I don,t think they were made by Colt. I can,t remember who actually made them. I have one like new I got off a auction site years ago. Nice little rifle. Heres a link to one. You can compare the bolt in the pics.

From looking at the link and Numrich it does appear to be from a Colt Colteer. Never thought to consider it being from a Colt, so thanks for the help.

Yes, Colt Colteer model 1. Yes, Colt manufactured this model from 1957-1966. It was sold under the Colt name, but, also, under Sears and Roebuck, Wards and others. This was a 'mostly alloy' firearm and did not fair well. The alloy receiver parts would wear down to cause many problems. One of the more specific was the accidental firing when the safety was released. ( this must have been an embarrassment to Colt ) These guns are selling as collectables in the $300 range. Unless you are a collector of gun parts, gunpartscorp.com ' Numrich", will most likely buy it from you.

I’m not 100% certain, but I think Marlin made the Colt Colteer model 1. Similar to the Model 80 and the latter model 25.
Oh! And Numrich might offer you $5 to $10 for it. But first you have to ship it to them for inspection, then they will make you a lowball offer. If you don’t take their offer, you have to pay the shipping to have it sent back to you.

I was thinking early Savage because the front of the bolt looks similar to the late model Savage B22 I own.

Since many gun owners have converted to newer styles, older gun parts are getting very scarce. Get what you can, while you can.

The Colteer was and is my first rifle. I inherited it from my grandfathers estate in 1961. It was given to him as a thankyou for all the work he did with the threshing crew when the old thresher was retired and replaced by a combine. Mine is marked Hawthorne (Monkey Wards). I don't shoot it a lot but it is really a great plinker for a fun afternoon at the range. The only issue is the front sight fell off, it's pot metal and glued on. I have a small scope on it now. I added a 2nd rifle a couple of years ago. It had the rear of the firing pin flared out so it would not fire. Quick work with a file fixed that. It's marked Revelation. (Gambles Store).

Revelation was sold by Western Auto stores. It was their name brand which they sold guns under.

Gunny, I need to amplify your answer on Revelation firearms. Western Auto stores were owned by Gambles, actually Skogmo (sp?)and Gambles. They were Gambles stores in the Midwest and Western Auto in the South. Brings back lots of memories, every small town in West Texas had a Western Auto store. Many of my early guns were purchased at a Western Auto store.
