What’s your holy grail revolver? Make it a gun that you do not already own but wish you did. Give enough description that someone can look it up and investigate it if they wish.

Mine is the Colt Bankers Special 22 lr. These were snub nose revolvers built on the Police Positive Frame which is the frame size that was lengthen to make the Police Positive Special to accommodate the 32-20 and the 38 Special which the Detective Special was built on. These were kind of the AirLites of their day but all steel construction. At it’s lightest in the 38 Colt offering. Good clean ones go for a pretty penny.

None of my list falls into Holy Grail territory.
They would all be readily available in normal times. I'd kinda like a Flat Top Blackhawk in 44 Spl. And even an authentic Colt SAA 4.5 inch in 45 COLT. Just a shooter grade nothing special.

I’m sure when Ruger introduced the 44Spl. Flat Top that Elmer and Skeeter smiled.

Another vote for a Registered Magnum. Have seen them for sale several times at shows, but didn’t have the several thousand dollar asking price with me.

Of course Registered Magnum #1 that went to J. Edgar Hoover would be tops.

I have or have had most of my "grail revolvers". I sometimes think about sending out a Ruger Flat Top in .44 Special for the engraving and ivory treatment; sort of an "in spirit" #5. And I'd really like to replace my 4" Model 29 that was stolen so many years ago.

When all is said and done, though, the one that really fancies my tickle is a Bowen "1917" on a Redhawk, in .50 AE.

I still keep an eye out for a blued Redhawk, which in California is a bit of a trick. And even then I'd need to come up with six or seven grand on top of it, plus a year or two. A fellow can dream, anyway...

I’m embarrassed to admit that I don’t have a grail gun at the moment. I guess I am an impulse buyer these days, ready to buy something that “speaks to me”! Pre-‘82 Smith & Wessons, classic .22 target rifles, double barreled shotguns get looked at the most.

Wasn't this a very recent thread somewhere else?
Regardless, mine would be a Schofield in .357 Mag. Not that it exists, but it might.

Yeah, here's the thread in General Handguns, but it wasn't limited to revolvers.:
"What's your latest bucket list handgun?"

Have been shooting a penultimate revolver for a dozen years or so,
An FA83 in 41 Mag. Accurate, comfortable to shoot, reliable- it is my deer rifle, back 40 companion,
Target buster, do all. Sleeps under my bed at night, just waiting for action.
A close second? S&W M10- also effective and versatile.
