Recommendation on a foul weather skeet gun

Either that Beretta or a Remington 1100 20 gauge will do. Either can be fully disassembled easily and rhe stock finish on the early Remingtons is about bulletproof.

Any shotgun that fits you well and preferably has a plastic or composite stock would do you well. I like the Winchester S3 that my friend uses. Has a great factory bolt release tab but i don't personally care for the feel of the wrist. Good for a tight budget and my only be available in 12.

Im biased like everyone else so my 1st choise would be the Beretta line. Not sure if the 12 gauge would run a 7/8 oz load at 1200 fps. My a300 cant manage them.

The 20 gauge is more than adequate for skeet and lately it really comes down to what ammo is available more than gauge. My club has only had 20s available so thats what im using ATM.

Cant really see shooting skeet in the rain. Anything that fits and you don't mind getting wet will do. For the infrequency of use, one of the Turkish s/a (TriStar comes to mind) will be fine.

Why not just shoot the gun you have and wipe it down when done? Personally, I would rather shoot when it is snowing versus raining.

I'll admit that none of my guns are too expensive, I just give it and extra wipe when it gets wet.
Make certain that your gun case is dry. Wet cases are the cause of many finishes gone bad.

That is one of the downsides to a Superposed. Get a target Citori used such as a 325 or so - problem solved!

Unfortunately, skeet tournaments are shot in the rain unless the conditions are very dangerous.

Fortunately, I’ve not had to shoot in the rain but I’d shoot my target gun and give it a thorough drying/cleaning/lubrication when done.

Otherwise, I’d not shoot if it was raining and I’d not shoot a valuable gun in the rain. (Note, a competion gun while it might be expensive, I consider it must endure all phases of the competition).

I’ll agree shooting in the snow would be more deirable than in the rain.

My first shotgun was a Baikal IZH-27, which I put thousands of rounds through. It mounts and swings like a Browning. At least it feels like it to me. The biggest down side is the automatic safety, which probably can be disconnected. They’re available on Gunbroker for around $400.

Black chrome or electroless nickel one of you shotguns.

I keep a Tri Star Semi-Auto as a lender / youth (I have the two stock combo gun) and for really bad weather I use it with the larger butt stock and barrel extension. I use a 4 Barrel Beretta 682 Skeet set for regular inclement weather.
