Just got my new Annealeez machine today, and I was wondering can you anneal after sizing and trimming brass or do you need to resize them again after annealing?

What if I have size and trimmed them already? If I redo them over again with annealing, will that harm brass?

A lot of time the shoulder will buckle if the brass is too soft. The reason for annealing first, then size work hardens the brass just a little.

Don’t know on starline, but a Winchester tech guy told me they do not anneal before loading new ammo. I had some 25wssm factory ammo that 20% of them split on firing.
All bottle necked cases are annealed after forming, with cases for commercial ammo cases they tumble the cases shiny for looks. Military brass is left with the tell tale annealed look.

explain this? 25wssm...no final anneal per Winchester
They were good enough to refund me the cost of the ammo as it was not reloadable. The wssm loads all push the limits.

Forgot to add I’ve seen a lot of split necks with Hornady brass. 17 hornet is real bad.

I have seen cases that split like that, they were 264 win mag but fired from a 300 wby.
The military doesn’t allow the final annealing discoloration to be polished off to ensure that it took place.
