No doom and gloom allowed in here, what are you hopeful or looking forward to in 2021?

I moved fro kaliphornie to Idaho a few years back! Built a 40 x 60 shop with a 20 x 20 "break room" say studio apt. and lived in that while the house was built. Moved into the house last November. Finally now I am putting my reloading stuff onto said break room. Will be throwing powder soon.
I planned ahead long long ago so the current shortage of, well everything, does not effect me

Curious - but what Time of day was so much ammo in the cart? With the “self-starter” flipper types who live in our Academy parking lot, the context must be applied.

Would like to buy a buddy’s Saiga 7.62x39 conversion, even if a long wait is required for market prices—-
From the Izhevsk factory means an approx. 95 percent Original Kalashnikov (with Russian wood) .I’ll take one of these over two good ARs.

The Second Amendment doesn’t exclude any of these. FUDDs - put on your thinking caps.

I feel like I've been almost dead in the water as far as shooting goes. I won't use up ammo frivolously until some appears on the shelves (or online) at reasonable prices. I have plenty from a practical point of view, but if for some reason we DON'T see replenishment happen this year I think remaining very conservative about shooting is highly advisable. Eventually it won't be "plenty" anymore.

Really looking forward to getting back to the range. I moved away from the state pistol range 4 years ago. Now the two closest ones are an hour away each, so that leaves me with only local clubs to deal with. From what I've read I'm not sure I'd like all of them. I occasionally pop a very few shots off here and there in the woods just so I know my guns work, but not in volume or for fun. There are some old quarries and mines around me where I can test a gun out, but it's not for all-day or every-day shooting. People use those places for other activities at times.

Most of all I'd like to see ammo get back close to normal before the end of the year. I hope I'm not dreaming!

I'm looking forward to shooting my reloads (new hobby) with the revolvers I already own rather than buying any more. I'll spend the money on components when I can find them at a price I'm willing to pay. Most of all, I'm going to try to enjoy every day because life's too short to waste any. Looking forward to warm weather, swimming with my wife down the lake and days on the salt water chasing fish.(carrying of course which makes it gun related)

More and more reloading looks like a hobby I need to get into, not just for fun.

I have a .22 Remington pellet gun... Don't use it much except for rodent control and birdfeeder bullies. I put a few drops of WD40 in my cans of pellets to make them volatile. I definitely think it beefs them up a little. Some shots seem to break the sound barrier - they have a much louder "crack" than most. The velocity specs for that rifle were just below the threshold I believe. If it looks like ammo will never get back normal just might invest in a better one!

That is called dieseling and it is very bad for the gun and will destroy it in short order.

Well.......I’m retired....so there’s that. I’ve been shooting my 10 ga Pedersoli SxS percussion alchemisting THE turkey load for April 19 (Arkansas Turkey Season) My right arm and shoulder is sore in a good way.
I think I’m close, 000 horseshoes pattern the best.

Finally warming up here and I've been getting some trigger time on my range.
And our goats are kidding, two yesterday, and 4 more pregnant momma's to go!

It's just nice to see how many ppl have both a diverse and , at the same time, similar views on... a peaceful outlook for the future.

Happy family time, range time, a few nice 3 day weekends ( JUST TELL THE BOSS DOUBLEMAG SAID IT WAS OK hahaha).
Ease into summer with a nice late Sat. afternoon BBQ and....ammo back in stock:)

And if you can't take a kid fishing, take them out shoot'n >> Ok , BOTH! !

I’m looking forward to starting the journey in discovering load work ups and loading my own rounds. I’m also looking forward to being able to pass on what I’ve learned to other folks coming along.

While leaving the range Saturday after shooting an RPR .22LR and .45 Colt BH (rather poorly I might add) I stopped by a bay to watch 6-7 CASS shooters. All looked to be 65+ and moving slow. No pressure. Lots of ad-lib joking. Guy in charge called everybody together and read from a laminated card the next stage to be shot. Was a scene out of a 60s western with Sammy Davis Jr. BAM!! The hook was set.

I never knew that part of the sport was recreating gun play from old westerns. Got out of truck. Talked a bit. Friendly bunch. Got home and completed the application for CASS. Got my first choice alias and now reading the rules. Local guy in charge already e-mailed me. I have all the appropriate guns and most of the gear plus I reload so I’m ready to go.

Kinda excited about 2021 now. Just looking to have fun and shoot with people in an age group who knew who Sammy Davis Jr. was. Plus it looks like I’ll be the youngest guy there. Been a while since I could say that.

Welcome to the club! I have been similarly hooked on SASS/CAS since 1998. I suspect you will be adding more cowboy guns to your bunkhouse, it just happens. I’m delighted you enjoyed the companionship of those older buckaroos, but visit some other clubs as soon as you can. There is surprising variety in stage scenarios from one club to another. Some will appeal to you more than others, but it’s all fun. Usually some vendors and usable goods for sale at the bigger matches too!

Last fall, I got into reloading for my T53 Mosin. It's not the most accurate thing and I wrote that off to it being what it is. I tried some quality ammo and found the gun to be far more accurate than I thought. Long story short, I got into reloading for it and finally got all the needed components in Dec. I had a few outings and my results were solid. After that, the weather went to pot, so I didn't shoot for well over a month.

I'm looking forward to spending more time with that rifle this summer, I'm excited to see what I can do with the old girl.

Nothing but more ammo, I am also intrigued to see what life throws at me but for now i just want more ammo and primer.

Looking forward again to Steel Challenge with the "Geezer Group" at my club. We're shooting indoors right now, and I got two buddies to join our group, one 74 and one 80. At 65, I'm actually one of the youngers. Both are staying for steel and we're all chompin at the bit to get started. Weather can't change soon enough.

I hope we can have our second annual competition this summer . My son's girlfriend stole the Gold Medal from me in Light Varmint , and she likes to gloat . Actually I loved seeing her win , she is a natural .

Good OP.

For me I have made the decision to shoot all of my guns that should be shot. I have for two decades now bought guns in 90% plus condition and not shot them. This year, with a few obvious exceptions, I am shooting them.

Got started yesterday with a mid 80s Mark III Trooper. Unfired but it has a nick in the bluing and no box. I have held that thing for ten years til yesterday. Shot two cylinders thru it. Next is a Win 94 in .375 Win.

I look forward to get back into reloading for accuracy in my DPMS LR-308. I kind of got out of it for a long time, but now have more time. I really want to get out the chronograph and really dial in some loads. And start to introduce my 6 year old into shooting. Maybe start her with the pellet gun, then 22lr. Plus, a bunch of other guns to learn how to perfect - Carcano, Garand. And bring back out the blackpowder revolver. Lots to look forward to.
