Does anybody here have any firearms they've never shot?

Years ago I had at least 20 guns that I had never shot. I got rid of all of them. There was 7 O/U's in the safe and 4 never got shot. Out of 15 handguns I kept 7. I don't miss any of them.

I collect Remington Nylon rifles. I have quite a few that I've not shot. Not because I'm babying them but because I have ones just like them that do get shot.

I also have a Remington Model 81 in 300 savage I bought at a garage sale 15 years ago. I've never shot it because I've not bothered to pick up any ammo for it. I only bought it because it was in pristine condition and cheap. Didn't know anything about them at the time.

Last summer I shot my WWII M1 Carbine for the first time. I'd had it for over 20 years, never got around to shooting it.

Yes. I own several new firearms that have never been shot.
Life, family, job, other hobbies, and covid-19 are all impactful.
One of these days I will take a day off just to visit the range.

I’ve a M96 Swedish Mauser made in 1919 I bought at a farm auction. After checking with a borescope it still had cosmoline in the chamber and traces in the bore. It shows no wear on the boldface, sling rings, buttplate, mussel or anywhere else. My thought is, it has never been fired. Who would have thought that a rifle over 100 years old would have never been fired?

No, I feel it is a sacrilege. Whether or not I buy a rifle is dependent on my ability to source ammo/components/dies. I will not buy anything "too valuable to shoot." I've passed on some pretty sweet deals as ammo to shoot them was a no-go. I do have one that is close. A K-31 I picked up when they could still be had in retail locations for under $200. I fired a total of 5 rounds of GP-11 just to verify zero, function, and a rough evaluation of accuracy potential, then preserved it and put it away. It is quite pristine other than the stock showing the normal hobnail gouges. I'm not keeping it "unfired" for this reason. I'm keeping it relatively virgin as it will be my spare to put into service when I wear the other 2 out.

Yes, my Win 66 Centennial. Actually never been shot. My Aunt bought it in 1966 as an investment. She never shot it. Passed it to me, and despite all the shooting I have done, I can't bring myself to shoot it. View attachment 986599
Had more than one of those. Buffalo Bill, Golden Spike and so on. My Dad and I bought them back when they came out. Never shot and in their boxes with hang tags and all. Sold them all not to long ago...

I've got guns I haven't shot... yet.
I was a bit flippant earlier but this is a more accurate statement.

In the past, I used to be more of a serious collector. I.E. The moment you shot some firearms, you lost significant value. So...I decided to get rid of anything I wasn't willing to actually shoot.

Now, while there are some I haven't shot for various reasons...YET...there isn't anything I'm not willing to shoot.

Only one, a S&W Model 29-2 commemorative that was unfired when I bought it. Thought I'd keep it that way. I've got two other revolvers I bought new in the box and unfired, but I have fired them now. I've shot many .44 Magnums before, so I know what they feel like to shoot, and I have two .41 Magnums that are frequently taken to the range.

Actually been thinking about shooting this one lately JD. Family heirloom, so I'm not gonna sell it. Might as well enjoy it.

Yes, I have an 1884 Springfield Trapdoor in pretty good condition that I haven't ever shot. But that's because I only got it last week, and my bullets haven't arrived yet! Provided they show up by Friday, by next week I'll be changing my answer back to "no."

Sometimes. Temporarily. I bought a Sig 229 with the diamond plate finish in a moment of weakness at a show. I wasn't even a 9mm fan at the time since I was drinking at the "must have a 4 in it" trough. Sat in the safe at least 5 years before I ever shot it!

There is a local auction this Saturday with 138 firearms listed. Many of them are limited edition, engraved, inlaid still in the box which I suspect have never been fired. I might go just to check the market.

I have a couple of guns gifted to me by my Dad, both are DU banquet guns (An 870 20 ga and a Beretta A303 12) that are unfired, along with a LH Rem 700 7mm Mag that was his gun... also unfired.

I have other fired guns he gave me that I haven’t shot my self; a .300 Weatherby Mk V and two older Rem shotguns (Sportsman 58 and 1100 12 Ga) that were his quail hunting guns for decades... and they have the wear to show it.

The only gun I bought new that I haven’t shot is a Stoeger O/U 12 Ga that I got around New Years 2021. I just haven’t had time to to go shoot yet.

The others all get fired, that’s why I got ‘em!

Stay safe.

That would be a negative for me. I guess if I bought something very rare and super expensive I might not shoot it. There are too many firearms I'd love to buy to shoot so the chances of me owning one of the aforementioned firearms are very slim!!!

I get a little gitty anxiety when I get a new gun and it gets worse until I shoot it. So I make it a point to do it asap. It's all the worse if it's something I'm reloading for...

Edit. I was just thinking. About a month ago my daddy wanted to trade me a double stack 9mm Makarov of for my single stack so I did. I haven't shot it since owning it. I know he's hired it plenty though.

A 1850s H.Leman, Lancaster, Penn. halfstock 38 cal rifle. Don't know why I haven't shot it. Bore is good, lock is good. Maybe I'm hoping it and the modern online will breed me a Sharpes.

Admittedly, yes. Not that they arent unfired, i just inherited more than i can find time to shoot. Some side by sides, some high power rifles, and some other miscellaneous long arms. I think the only pistol I haven't shot though is an early Colt Shooting Master that has some suspect areas.

I have 3 right now that I have never shot. One is awaiting a new barrel and the other 2 I have just not gotten around to.
