That’s a real beauty that’ll sure sell! It looks like Colt is listening, many of you have posted the want for a newly released big bore from Colt.

Let’s send out a group prayer so those of you who want one will actually find one. Things are so picked over locally that many gun stores around here look like a tomato field after the harvest.

And when you do find one and bring it home, be sure to tell us all about it. ;).

Stay safe.

Yeah I agree with Anation, good luck finding one under 2k anytime in the next two years.

The new Pythons were far better than any originals in terms of strength and design. Current going rate for 2020 Pythons is double to triple MSRP. THAT should tell you something. They are THAT good.

They’ll sell every Anaconda they can make.

Below is the TFB article. States "bulked-up frame for added strength". I could be wrong but I believe the original was already considered one of the strongest 44 Magnums. Maybe they are planning on eventually adding one 454/460. I don't remember the timeline exactly but all these revolvers were available at the custom shop, at a similar price point, before being abruptly cancelled. I wonder what has changed with the general buying public since then that demand basically has no ceiling. In saner times a $1,499 MSRP would sell for $1,200 or less. Basically %150 a Redhawk which would allow some people to actually use them to hunt. However, for the price they will be going for over the next couple of year, they will mainly be novelty collector items and safe queens.

I have an original. I did put a good looking set of wooden hogues on it, which improved the look. Before they became collectors items I hunted with it. Now it is in retirement. I take it out to look at it and on very few occasions put some light 10 grain unique loads through it. I do my 44 business with other guns now.

The colt fans will go bonkers at any price. In 44 Mag I'll stick with my Rugers that I have owned for years for full house loads and accuracy. At less than msrp I might try one and compare. As someone else mentioned these will be bought, shot a few times and become safe queens. Not many folks out there these days enjoy shooting big bores. They are something that you just have to enjoy shooting and be able to handle without complaining about recoil...

The quality and name certainly are contributing to drive the price up, but the idiotic market and lack of availability combined with people panic buying is what's driven the price as high as it is IMO.

I was going to say...being a fanatic of 44 magnum, I'd definitely be interested in an Anaconda...eventually. Sadly, there's just the perfect storm going on. Colt bringing back firearms that are already inflated do to modern colt...er...cult status coupled to a completely insane panic driven gun buy means getting one for anywhere near retail will be impossible for quite some time.

Yeah when I said I want one, I should have added, "I'm patient though and don't actually need one. So I'll wait until prices aren't being driven by lunacy and panic."

I'm a lot more interested in an Anaconda than a Python. I have three 357's and while they are all nice guns, I only really enjoy one of them anymore. I don't have a 44 magnum. So I could see selling my S&W 686 Competitor. It's an impractical gun for anything but range time or competition, and I am leaning more towards practical guns I'd carry. the Anaconda would be exactly that. And with 44 Special level loads, it would be a fantastic woods gun for me. Might save my ears a bit too. I don't need gobs of guns.

It's kind of off topic, but I have tried (and failed) to get into .357 mag for years now, in the end I always land up getting rid of them. I'm a much larger fan of 44 magnum, such a great round to reload, so much versatility.

An Anaconda would make a fine "sunday shooter" along side my Super Redhawk, which I beat on like it owes me money.
